Ughhh!!! I'm late for work this morning, because I just cannot have a bowel movement (sorry tmi)

I've been back and forth to the toilet since 7am - and it's so difficult to pass (starts to come out, retreats back in Blush)

Just want to go!!!

Prunes, lots of water, figs etc and if all else fails.....vaseline!!! Although I have IBS so my problem is the complete opposite!!! Hope you 'debung' soon!!!

HalloumiToastie · 09/07/2013 10:15

I had exactly the same. drinking 2 or 3 glasses of warm water a day worked for me. good luck !!

moominmaiden · 09/07/2013 10:38

Probably not the most medically sound advice in the world, but have you tried having a cup of coffee? Technically you're allowed 2 cups a day. I drink very little coffee these days but it has always worked when I've had the same problem ;)

It's so awful. I've been really constipated recently. Weetabix, orange juice before bed, cranberry juice and loads of water. Good luck xxxx

wispa31 · 09/07/2013 15:47

prune juice, in warm water if you can take it, plenty of apples pears and oranges. if you get really desparate, stick a glove on and have a hoke, i did it, it helped a bit
if you are reallly too uncomfortable ring your gp and ask them for some lactulose, its a godsend! nowt worse than that bowling ball feeling in your arse. soo uncomfy to sit down i found. im convinced your body does this to prepare you for the actual birth.

bingeddybongo · 09/07/2013 18:18

I am going to say this extremely quietly and as someone who has suffered serious constipation a lot over the last few years for various reasons: if you stick a thumb up your foof and push backwards and downwards, you will (a) be totally shocked at the rock-solidness compacted into the neighbouring, er, channel, and (b), once you've done that, you should find something comes out. I know it sounds terrible but please don't judge me - if you're desperate, you're desperate, and believe me, I've been desperate!! And you can also believe me when I tell you it's preferable to sticking your finger up the other option. Not that I've done that, obviously Blush.

Oh Bingeddybongo,

You have just brightened up my day Grin x x

bingeddybongo · 12/07/2013 06:18

Haha you're welcome Writerwannabe Wink ...I appear to have completely killed off the conversation otherwise Blush

Notafoodbabyanymore · 12/07/2013 06:24

Bingeddybongo, I'm with you. Shamefully, I've done exactly the same thing and it works a treat!

I work In a nursing home, if it is "poking out" then put a hand on each cheek and rub them in circular motions it should fall out LOL Blush
