Sooooo bored of this now.

I have a busy day today and I've been wide awake for an hour already.

RAGE! Angry

I'm not pregnant but I do have insomnia. Been awake and watching crap TV since 1.45. Got a 250 mile drive ahead of me today too. Sucks doesn't it.

TobyLerone · 08/07/2013 04:58

Ugh. It's especially bad if you know you have to do something like driving. Driving makes me tired at the best of times, so I'd be so worried/frustrated if I had to do that.

Take it easy. Red Bull is your friend!

I totally, 100% feel your pain. It's a nightmare. And it's even worse with the bloody heat because all the time I'm awake I'm rolling around trying to get comfortable instead of resting!

Gerty1002 · 08/07/2013 08:11

I'm with you, so pleased I have less than two weeks left at work, it won't matter if my brain is mush after that :)

FoofFighter · 08/07/2013 08:20

Try taking magnesium supplements, they are recommended mainly for cramps and restless legs, but also can have an impact on insomnia.

You have my sympathy, I am a light sleeper anyway but since getting bfp it's been completely shit, had a brief respite in tri 2 but apart from that am just wide awake even though am soo sooo soooooooooooooo tired, just cannot drop off and get a max of around 5hrs a night which really isn't enough.

TobyLerone · 08/07/2013 08:28

Magnesium, huh? I'll give it a go. Thanks :)

Sadly I think mine is hayfever-related, so I'm probably stuck with it.

I'm 20 weeks and also suffering with insomnia :( so tired now. (And hot and by backs in agony!) I've not heard of magnesium. Is it safe to take during pregnancy?

NoisyBrain · 08/07/2013 21:34

I posted about this same subject yesterday (well, at about 4.30 yesterday morning during yet another sleepless night).

I had insomnia for several years, which finally improved about a year ago. Its return is most unwelcome! I have just over four weeks left at work, which can't go quickly enough. It's pretty tough trying to put in a decent day's work on less than 4 hours' sleep Sad

Foof do you know what sort of dose of magnesium is supposed to help? (the Pregnacare tablets I'm taking apparently have 40% of the RDA in them).

Kelly1814 · 08/07/2013 22:00

Eurgh me too! 1 am and wide awake. Usually fall asleep about 3 then wake up an hour later to wee. Then up at 7 for a full day at work. Kill me now!

Just can't get comfy and my brain also seems to sift through any and all of my worries about pregnancy, being a parent etc etc. so tired!

TobyLerone · 09/07/2013 04:03

Aaaaand again Angry

Morning, all!

Not pg but wide awake here. Lying in bed trying to turn my brain off but it's not working. Have a very full day at work tomorrow and it's just embarrassing getting caught out yawning all the time!

TobyLerone · 09/07/2013 04:17

And now the poxy birds have started Angry What have they got to be so cheerful about, anyway?

Newmum0113 · 09/07/2013 04:35

Hah! 4:30 seems to be the official time for "I'm seriously fed up of this quite rightly put bloody sodding insomnia now, lets check mumsnet!"

I'm 25+5 now and this is getting beyond a joke. I've been up all night unable to sleep. Finally feel a bit sleepy and the sun is up and the birds are out. aaargh!!! Angry

TobyLerone · 09/07/2013 04:39

37+3 here. Can't sodding sleep again. Just as I'm about to nod off, DD wakes up / shouts as she's too hot and can't sleep either! Angry

IBelieveInPink · 09/07/2013 05:09

Yes with the birds! The tweety ones have just started.

I hope a cat gets them.

I struggle with insomnia too! This is second pregnancy and at least I know when the baby is born I will sleep like the dead (inbetween night feeds).
