Haven't had booking in appointment yet, can I still call midwife though?

I've got really bad bruising on my legs. One is massive and purple. Looks like I've been beaten!
I'm 9+3 and haven't got my booking in appointment for another couple of weeks. Can I ring the midwife to ask her about it? Alternatively could someone on here put my mind at rest?

Definitely phone your midwife for anything pregnancy related, even if you are not booked in. They should be able to help you.

Alternatively speak to your gp about the bruising, or even a pharmacist may be able to help. It could be a group of blood vessels close to the surface which now you have more blood in your body they show more, which can look a bit like bruising. I had this in my last pregnancy but it was further on before they showed up but i'm currently 10 weeks and they are already starting to appear.

I'm sure everywhere is different but I was told to go to my GP for anything other than scheduled midwife appointments until I was 16 weeks and then after 16 weeks the MW should be first point of contact.

I think your GP would be a better person to contact in the first place .

Ps likely to be nothing but you'll need to have bloods taken - full blood count and clotting
