I am currently 38+5 and am having a little rant. I know I'm not the only one to feel like this this far along but im hot and swollen and I can't seem to stay hydrated. Dh's snoring is especially annoying this morning no matter how many times I prod him. I had morning sickness from 9 weeks that stopped around 35 weeks but it appears to be back again just as bad as before if not worse. Baby is moving plenty and its Getting Quite painful im peeing about 6 times in the night so am shattered. Have defo had enough now. Please can I have some cheering up... :s

get a paddling pool or big bucket, fill it with water and shove your feet in it, I did this in the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy (only 2.5 weeks ago!) and it was lovely, sat outside reading a book splashing my feet around, keeps them cool with the swelling and also helps hydrate your skin( this may not be true but it's a good excuse!)

also ice pops, you've now got an excuse to eat as many as you want Grin

I'm only 25+3 but wanted to offer a Brew and a Biscuit.

I have no way to vent except on here, otherwise I get people saying things like "oh, but you wanted this" or comments as such.

I know that I'm going to need MNers support in future so you go ahead and rant away because at the end of the day, some bits of pregnancy suck! And people seem to forget that when they're not going through it!

For snoring gently pinch his nose. A friend swears by this. Apparently when you're asleep the subconscious realises that nose is blocked and your partner should turn over in his sleep hopefully into a position that doesn't cause snoring. By DH snores when he lies on his back but I appear to have trained him to turn over in the middle of the night in his sleep when I say turn over you're snoring. He never remembers this though

Could you banish him to another room if you have space? I spent the last week of pregnancy with DS sleeping on the couch because I couldn't bear my husband's snoring. Also prop your feet up on a pillow and put the fan on, or buy some magicool, it's really good for these hot days.

id hit him if he was snoring, then pretend to be asleep when he inevitably wakes up, but I was very grumpy at tge end of my pg

HeffalumpTheFlump · 07/07/2013 20:59

Steff - I once watched a program about snoring and they were very clear on the fact that it is not acceptable to use violence of any kind to stop your partner from snoring. Whoever decided to include that has obviously never gone days without sleep because of their partners snoring. When it's been bad my DH is just lucky I havent smothered him in his sleep!!

Steffanoid · 07/07/2013 21:18

haha, I think they need to sleep next to my dp when he is sleeping on his back after he's had a beer, sometimes a well placed elbow will get you a few hours peace

Bejeena · 07/07/2013 21:48

Well I am only 33+6 right now so got a bit to go but wanted to say try earplugs for snoring, get some nice comfy ones from boots, best money can buy (I use ohropax soft) and they will help no end.

Agree on the not hitting, people don't know what it is like to be so sleep deprived. My husband has always snored and I have worn earplugs for 7 years I don't know how I am going to give them up when baby comes, but I'll have toConfused I hit him once years ago and he hit me back in his sleep Grin he was very apologetic
