Insomniaaaaargh!

Just that really.
31 weeks and the insomnia has kicked in with a vengence. I am seriously unamused by this turn of events. The fact it's ridiculously hot isn't helping of course.

We're told 'get as much sleep as you can before the baby arrives'. At this rate I'm going to be a basket case well before then! I have 4 more weeks of work to manage too :-(

Anyone else suffering? Please do join my pity party!

I think it's just the heat but my 4am wakings are getting longer and longer. It's gorgeous out there, feel like I should be sat in the garden ! Hope you get some sleep soon

FeegleFion · 07/07/2013 05:31

You'll get used to it soon enough GrinWink

Seriously, I had terrible insomnia when I was pg with DS 7 months, so I feel your frustration.

I can't lie to you, though, ExP and I had a right good cry giggle a month or two after DS arrived about how I used to whinge about my insomnia during pg.

All baby's are different; my DS is still waking up to every half hour (at his worst, like last night, he was too warm) but you eventually find your groove with it all...Hmm

I'm sorry for being a misery, I hope I haven't upset you.

I remember it well. I used to sleep 11-1 & 6-8
The rest of the night was spent eating biscuits & watching Jeremy Kyle & Cash Cab

They are worth it though & LO sleeps like a dream now x

It's really hard when your pregnant and tired. I had my dd last week and am actually now grateful for the insomnia as its really helping me with the split sleep of night feeding.

Hard at the time but maybe its another one of natures clever ways z

rumtumtugger · 07/07/2013 06:21

Clever ways my arse! I too would like some sleep... :(

plentyofsoap · 07/07/2013 06:41

Same here, I think its the heat as well. My ds normally wakes at 8, 5.30 this morning.... its going to be a long day. What time have you been going to bed? I started going later and that seemed to help.

FeegleFion · 07/07/2013 07:20

I'm with rumtum this is not big and it's not clever, nature! Give us back our sanity sleep Grin

For those of you who are pg with DC1, I promise you they are worth every single exhausted minute.

The really annoying thing is, I had long-term insomnia before, which had only just started to improve over the last year or so. During my first trimester I slept better than I had for years and smugly, I thought pregnancy might have 'cured' me! I eventually got to sleep some time after 5am this morning.

During the week I go to bed around 11.00. I've tried going to bed later and going to bed earlier, but it seems that if my body's decided it's going to be one of those nights, that's it. Sundays are always the worst Sad
