Think I'd like to sleep alone but not sure how DH would take it

I'm 35+5 and uncomfortable the majority of the time but especially in bed. We have a king size bed but DH still manages to migrate to my side and then there's the extra body heat. I spend most nights tossing and turning. I sleep way better after he goes to work and have the bed to myself.

The heat is really supposed to kick in this week and I really don't know what to do. We have a spare room with a single bed that I could sleep in but it kind of feels like I'm abandoning DH. We've just been married almost 2 years and have never spent a night apart.

The last few nights in bed though I just want to cry I'm so uncomfortable.

Am I being ridiculous??

Last night was actually fine as I didn't wake till 6 and DH made a real effort to stick to his side of the bed but its going to be really hot tonight so I've a feeling I'll be moving tonight.

I think i'm subconsciously wanting to sleep alone, at breakfast OH said he had slept really badly as I repeatly hit him and moaned at him to get away from me during the night as I was hot and my belly hurt. I have absolutly no memory of any of it, and thought i'd had a good nights sleep Smile

Perfect senario if you can pull it off, lots of sleep for me and he is now suggesting he moves to the spare room.

Haha well done purple!

DH was my first boyfriend (shocking, I know!) and when we first moved in together I'd never spent the night with him - or anyone before. In the early hours of the morning around dawn in my sleep I punched him straight in the eye socket and gave him a lovely shiner.

Unfortunately we both seemed to wake up at that moment so he saw my clenched fist coming towards him and my eyes open, so thought I was awake.

Oops! Sad

helga I am a very hot person in general so am not looking forward to the rest of the summer - I'm 25+4 so heading for the "big" stage. I have a pregnancy pillow (got it on eBay for £12 + postage. It is a godsend for me. Doesn't make me hot at all. I can cuddle it and get as comfortable as possible and DH can't disturb me as he can't get over to me.

Hope you get some good nights sleep soon.

Regards, another hot, restless, pregnant insomniac who constantly needs to pee! Flowers Smile

I think I might move to the spare bed during the night if i can't sleep (i'm 31+4). I have made it up just in case (it's in the 'nursery' but being kept for now so that we have this option once LO is in our room).

I will start in the bed with DH as the spare bed appeals even more at 4am if it hasn't been slept in as it'll be all cool and unruffled. I'll only go there if I wake up, otherwise I'll stay in our bed.

I think DH might find it odd to wake up without me there but he wakes really early usually so I have to wake without him there all the time.

Just have to make sure I take my alarm / phone with me...

I'm 32 weeks and DH has been sleeping in the spare room for the last four weeks.

Although it started off because apparently I am now snoring, so he initiated moving to the spare room

TBH, he also preferred sleeping in the spare room when both DSs were newborns. Was easier for me to feed and DS to sleep next to me and DH got some sleep. I think we will need to do it again, so that I can do the night shift with DS3 and DH can get up at 5.30 with early waking DS2!

Quick update- I haven't felt the need to go to the spare room since I started this thread!! DH has been making a real effort to stick to his side of the bed. I thought last night would be really bad because of the heat but was actually fine. I woke around 6.30 (for the 3rd time but was the first time i felt awake) but as DH gets up at 7 there was no point moving

badguider you just made me think of something - our spare room is going to be the nursery too but at the mo has a single bed in there as BIL stays occasionally. The sheets and duvet on the bed are flannelette, that would be way too warm in this weather!
