Had my scan and all was well, good strong heartbeat. But baby was sitting up waving arms and legs about and they needed little bean laying down so I had to go for something to eat and drink and go back!! It was a long morning but thankfully all was good. So amazing seeing it all on the screen, after a long time ttc this moment in my life still feels like a dream!! [Grin]

Congrats!! Smile

The exact same thing happened to me at my 20 week scan. Bubs was curled up in a ball and not for moving which meant they couldn't get some of the measurements. I got sent for a coffee and some chocolate to see if that would help but he/she wasn't for complying! So I had to go back this week and I am pleased to say they were much better behaved, although sonographer did comment that I appeared to have a 'live wire' as baby was moving about so much!

Congratulations!!

We had 20 scan yesterday, baby was wriggling about so much that it took a while to get all the measurements Grin

Least it means you get to see them for a bit longer!

Congratulations! So glad to hear it all went well Smile
Good to know it's not just me that has a naughty bean! When I went for my scan a couple of weeks ago the little one kept wriggling around and wouldn't lie still for the scan, so they sent me off for a 15 min walk to get it to calm down. I was so embarrassed as I'd never heard of that happening to anyone before!

Me too! At 12 week scan I was told I had a naughty baby as he/she was swimming everywhere and couldnt take many measurements. They sent me home though!! 20 week scan on Wednesday, so hopefully more settled.

Must admit I didnt like someone telling me I had a naughty baby Angry! A moving baby is a happy baby!!

That's great news. I also had a fidgety baby. I even had to have my 20 week scan repeated at 23 weeks due to moving to much to get the measurements. At all my midwife (and my 1 gp) appointment the baby kept moving so much it took them ages to get the heart beat long enough for the check. It won't surprise you to hear that my now 15 month old dd was desperate to meet her sitting up, crawling and walking targets? She's never still now, even when she's asleep

I have a really naughty baby too! Had 12 week scan (turned out I was only 11 weeks) and she was wriggling all over the place so had to go back 2 weeks later. She was nearly as bad then but managed to stay still in the right position just long enough to get measurements.

20 week scan we couldn't see a thing, she did not want to be scanned and no amount of bouncing, drinking, eating or peeing was helping! So 2 weeks later we had to go back again and after I had a bit of a shift and a bounce she state still for the measurements!

Yup my baby was like that too, only he didn't want to be seen, so he curled up and hid away! Had to go back two weeks later so they could do all their checks because they couldn't do it then and there.

Naughty? I don't think I'd react well to being told that.
DC1 was stubborn and awkward about scans at about 20 weeks - took three goes. DC2 appeared to be very energetic at 12 and 14 weeks. 20 week scan in a few days so we'll see if that has changed.
At 14 weeks DC2 seemed to get fed up after a while and turned his/her back on the sonographer!

blondebaby111 · 06/07/2013 14:04

I didn't get insulted ybr, all she said was 'naughty baby, doesn't want to have his pic taken' seeing as my fiance hates having his pic done I can clearly see who baby will take after lol!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one this happened to, it scared me at first as I thought something was wrong and no friends had ever warned me that might happen..let's hope he\she behaves for the 20 week scan xx

Had my 20 week scan now, and DC2 was being very awkward and refusing to move. The Sonographer was very persistent though and eventually got a look at everything.
I asked and she gave the impression that most babies are in an awkard position for loking at something!
