Painful Braxton hicks

Hi this is my first baby and I wanted to ask if anyone else had experienced extremely painful Braxton hicks (the type that make you want to throw up and scream) and what they mean or suggest? I'm 36 weeks now and experienced such pain I thought I was in labour. This happened also at 35 weeks pregnant on one occasion. Do these painful BHs mean labour is close or?

Hi there, I'm unsure if it means labour is coming as this is my first baby too (I'm 37 wks) but I would call your maternity triage number on the back of your pregnancy notes or call your midwife for their advice.

I'm having mild cramps sometimes which are uncomfortable for 2 mins or so and then fade... my midwife said they are braxton hicks but that if they turn unbearably painful then I need to contact her or triage at the hospital. If nothing else, they will probably just be able to reassure you which might give you peace of mind.

Sorry I can't be more help! Good luck
