Just lost mucus plug......how long to wait???

Hi ladies had a sweep on tues, nothing really happened, yesterday started having cramps and bit of discharge, then all stopped....just now lost lots of the plug and cramping quiet badly, this is no 3 how quickly could things happen??? Dh works a good distance away and I'm home alone with the two dcs should I ring him??? Don't want him to be coming to a false alarm but just getting a bit panicky??

With my first I had the mucus to plug a week before I gave birth :) keep active as the baby's head stimulating your cervix will bring it on quicker than being sat around.

you can lose your plug a while before you labour, the day I lost mine fully my waters broke about 2 hours later, try and do something on all fours to stimulate your lo into arriving

I lost mine the Tuesday morning, started contracting the Weds night, and had DD the Thurs night :)

I'd give him a headsup to be on standby, but don't see any reason for him to rush home just yet :)

How long were your labours with the other 2?

I lost mine 12 hours before contractions started

Thanks ladies....have my parents here for the last while and gave dh a heads up about what was happening....so do feel a bit more secure now....still cramping a lot, but nothing like contractions just yet....still loosing lots of the plug by the looks of it....so hopefully things are starting to happen :-) my first labour was 10 hours and 2nd was 4 hours....so a little bit worried this one will be lighting speed!! Dh home now in a while so everything will most probably stop for the night!!!

For me, both babies came about 7 hours after plug went.

Mine came out friday evening and contractions started the following tuesday, but very mild. Full on contractions started wednesday morning.
