11.5 weeks with dc3,

I have IBS anyway I think, I'm slim and tall. But my bloating is unreal. I could try to go to toilet, but probably only go twice a week if I'm lucky?

Tmi... It's always so hard to pass, and most of the time hardly anything when I feel like I need to completely clear out! Argh!

I have lactulose. But no change. My tummy cramps are horrible from how bloated I feel.

What can I try? I'm active with my dds but I'm hoping to do more swimming, exercise DVD to get moving.. More water intake.... What else? What foods? Natural remedies?

I'm getting so upset its so uncomfortable...

Lactulose made me have terrible wind and tummy cramps, but at least I wasn't constipated.

The doctor prescribed me children's glycerine suppositories which helped clear the compacted backlog (TMI sorry) then the lactulose softened stool was able to be passed. That build up of lactulose softened stool behind the compacted stool can give really bad cramps, it is relieved somewhat afterwards.

Peppermint oil capsules, peppermint and chamomile tea are things you can have.

Lots of raw spinach, salads, vegetables and fruit helped me.

I have had IBS for a while and recently cut out wheat/gluten, the cramps have gone. Dairy can also be a trigger, are you sensitive to any foods?

I.was the same for 3 weeks.straight at start of this pregnancy. Was excruciating. Spoke to a doctor and he.said to use senna tablets (senna. Not sennacot). They are herbal and.completely safe whilst pregnant. Take 2 before bed (i.used every other night). They really really help its such a relief!! 99p from bodycare (if your town has them) x

I stopped taking my pregnacare vitamins (was about 13 weeks at the time though) as lactulose made me feel incredibly sick, fybogel didn't work at all and neither dud anything else (tmi- even tried a hot curry!!) my usual trick of drinking lots of hot water didn't work either Sad

I keep thinking now I should go back on them again but so reluctant to be constipated again, it's so miserable, isn't it?!

I also recommend prunes. Works really well and never needed any medication.

I'm still breastfeeding my 13mo, so will have to look into more things around that I guess

I was terribly bunged up during pregnancy. The only thing that worked was a tip I got on MN - warm prune juice.

Drink one glass warmed up a bit in the microwave and stay close to a toilet Grin Works a treat (and such a relief!)
