sharp pins and needles all over bump-35weeks

hi. had this a few times over the past week. very sharp pins and needles sensation all over bump, quite alarming but subsides after 15 seconds or so. thought initiallt it may be braxton hicks but now think not. google and pregnancy books have no answers.
anyone?

I do sometimes get pins and needles over my bump which seem to coincide wih braxton hicks (I'm now 39+5), I just assumed it was another one of those normal things no one warns you about! You could just run it past your midwife to be sure, they won't mind being asked.

Oh, I've had this a couple of times in my third trimester. I read somewhere that it is because the skin is stretching. Mine last about the same time as yours.

I sometimes get the sensation when baby is 'straining' - i.e. pushing his bum as far out as possible ;)
