Every year my extended family take a weeks holiday somewhere in the UK. For the past 15 years we have driven around four or five hours out to a big house and stayed for a week.

I've just had my BFP and am trying to work out an EDD and I think it will be three weeks after we return from the holiday.

We already have DD who will be 2.2 around the edd.

Ifdh, dd and I stay home, everyone who we would leave her with for labour will be away that week, not that that is the sole reason for going, just makes staying behind a logistical difficulty.

I was 40+2 when dd was born and have no reason yet to suspect this one would be early. I need to pay up for the holiday within the month but not planning on sharing pg news for another two months.

The thought of being able to totally relax for a week is really appealing so late in pg.

Wwyd?

I wouldn't but i am high risk so by then was on almost daily hospital visits and had having been booked for induction at 38 weeks suddenly became unwell at 37 and had to go in straight away but if I wasn't may consider it and just check where there's a hospital.

I wouldn't. Dc3 came without warning at 36 weeks - dc1 and 2 had both been within 2 days of EDD. if you do go make sure you have notes. Labour bag and have checked out local labor facilities and know who to call. Dc2 and 3 came much faster Than 1 - wouldn't have had any time to spare for trying to find hospital etc!

Bottom line - no, I would not as my son was born at 36 weeks, totally unexpected, obviously!

I would go, but on the proviso that DH learnt to drive PDQ!
