DH set up the cot when he came home from hospital after DD was born.

I like to remind him that the evening before I went into labour I said to him "I think it's time we set up the cot". He replied that we were going to do it the next day or so. DD was born at 38+6.

I've just set up the moses basket and am 39 weeks. Cot is on DH's to do list, but as I mistakenly mentioned it won't be needed til approx 4 months, I expect it to go up when the baby is about 6 months...

We put up cot before the baby was born I guess ... can't remember ... but not needed til DD was 5 months.

You shouldn't put the moses basket in a cot. You need to be able to put the baby down easily and stroke his hair, kiss him etc and a cot will get in the way.

I'm 23 weeks and cot is on order, it's likely to arrive this week but I'm away visiting family so told DH he has to wait for me to get home lol. I will be 24 weeks when we put it up but this is our first and we're a little over excited Grin.

Although it's going in a nursery, I don't think we'd put it up so early if we were having it in our room as there would be no space left then!

We set our cotbed up at about 22 weeks! After our 20 week scan we gave our parents the go ahead to buy things they had offered to buy whenever they were ready - within a week we had cot, bedding, pram, etc!

So we decided to just get cracking and set up the whole nursery rather than leave everything in boxes, and though LO will be in moses basket at first we have cot top changer etc in nursery so will be used as a changing area.

It goes without saying that this is our first baby and our parents' first grandchild :).

I did it while I was on maternity leave (35+) set up the whole nursery, washed all the clothes... Then spent the next 6 weeks twiddling my thumbs...
