Comfortable maternity clothes for massive bump

Any tips on bargains discovered recently? I am 31 weeks so not long to go but I am popping out of my maternity clothes, my bump is huge and my bum has spread rather alarmingly! I hadn't really considered having to buy more but I am definately no longer the petite size 10 I started out and need something to see me through the next couple of months. If one more person tells me how massive I am I will scream. Help!

I was absolutely huge and I'm afraid to say the more expensive stuff was the best for accomodating massive bump. I had a jersey dress from seraphine which cost about £50 but i wore it death so it was worth it. Isabella oliver also great for a huge bump. Ebay?

Primark do £5 dresses. I bought two in huge sizes and they are sooooo comfy. They come in loads of patterns too, from stripes to leopard print and worn with leggings, they are bliss!

I'm 25 weeks with twins and already full term size...

I found some v stretchy midi dresses in New Look under the brand name of Carmen Rose which I have bought in a large and they fit well and don't ride up at the front - I was a 14 to start with so think you should be fine in them. Also Dorothy Perkins have a range of maxi dresses that crossover the bust and have a tie behind the bust so they work well also. Again they're not maternity ones but seem generously cut in the front drape so don't ride up. I bought mine in a 16 and so far so good.

Thank you...will pop into town this weekend and check them out. I have always lived in jeans and I think its time to admit defeat and recognise that I just can not wear them the shape I am at the moment, its more important to be comfortable right now.

When I was pregnant last time we had a heat wave for a week when I was 35 weeks. I measured 47 inches around my bump Blush It was October and 20-something degree's so there was nothing in the shops. I found wearing my DP's cotton boxer shorts and a vest around the house (roll the top of the boxer's so they don't gap at the fly) and had a couple of maxi dresses that still fitted for when I had to go out. Only other thing that was comfy was maternity jogging bottoms/yoga style trousers.

I swear by over the bump maternity leggings and maternity jersey dresses. I got my leggings from h&m and have a few dresses from debenhams and new look. I am currently wearing a non maternity cross over dress from debenhams (Ben de lissi - black with white semi circles) and it just about fits with a vest underneath. Am 28 weeks and have given up on jeans!

Agree with callofthewild about the New Look midi dresses. They are very stretchy and fit nicely over bump. I'm nearly 37 weeks and there pretty much the only thing I feel comfortable in at the moment. Even got a compliment on the dress from the nice lady in Holland and Barretts today :)

I am at the same stage as you.. peacocks maternity fits me well. New Look is brilliant. The navy linen trousers are great and defo ok to wear after.. nice and light too. I am seriously thinking of a second pair.
The maxi dresses are great from New Look as said already.
JoJo blouses are massive! Still two months at least to go so I would invest.

Only now after having had DS, I can look back & wish if spent more on my maternity clothes. 9 months is a long time to be wearing the same old cheapie stuff!

I bought a Jojo maman wrap top at 7 months which was SO comfy as it has the flexibility of accommodating any bump size & was really flattering on my bump. Bonus is that you can wear it afterwards too & is useful for breastfeeding. Wish I'd bought it sooner!!

One of the most comfortable maternity tops I have is this one from TopShop which is great with leggings:

www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=1&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=10377351&langId=-1&sort_field=Newness&categoryId=208537&parent_categoryId=203984&pageSize=200

I wouldn't usually buy maternity stuff from Top Shop because they seem expensive for what they are, but this one was only £18 and also comes in white.

Also, have you tried buying a maxi dress in a size up? I got one from Next which fits comfortably over my (sizable 37 week) bump - and it isn't even maternity!

Waist high leggings from American Apparel are nothing short of amazing. Comfy, light and they never ever fall down... My best maternity buy so far.
