Accumulating childcare vouchers on maternity leave

Hi Smile

Does anybody happen to know how childcare vouchers work whilst you're on maternity leave? Do you get them based on what your full salary would have been ie on top of SMP, or are they deducted ('sacrificed') from the SMP?

Many thanks

They're on top of. Essentially your contract has changed so your salary is reduced and you get an additional benefit in the form of the childcare vouchers.

As these are a benefit you are entitled to continue receiving them while on maternity leave (in the same way as any other benefits are continued)
