Ok so I'm getting married soon, just found out I'm preggers, and so so happy about all of that. I have everything anyone could want and know I'm so lucky. So, why am I being grotty and grouchy? Am I just spoilt!? Feel like shaking myself and telling myself to get a grip!! Anyone else??

One word: hormones.

Aetae · 25/06/2013 18:48

Start taking antenatal vitamins. They improved my mood no end in the first trimester.

kasareem · 25/06/2013 18:59

Ha ha, thanks molotovcocktail! Aetae, I've been taking them since started ttc, I think I'm just moany! Just worried that if I'm already getting fed up of myself, how must OH be feeling!?

You are not alone and I hope you are feeling ok.

I am perfecting the art of biting my tongue!!

kasareem · 25/06/2013 20:15

Ha ha, I think I need to practice that one too!

I know exactly how you feel. I am 20 weeks and on Monday I could have gone about slapping anyone who so much as looked my way. I was in a foul mood for absolutely no good reason and I could hear myself moaning the face off DH but I couldn't quite get my brain to stop my mouth from being so unreasonable!! DH found my mood quite funny, which only enraged me more! Thankfully I woke up the next day feeling fine, so I'm putting it down to the hormones too!

Fairydogmother · 26/06/2013 10:30

I totally sympathise! I'm 21 weeks and for the past 2-3 weeks i've been a grumpy cow Grin

i'm getting married next year and that can be stress enough never mind also having a baby!

RJM17 · 26/06/2013 10:48

I was really grouchy when planning my wedding as I had a lot on my mind and I was very grouchy first few months of pregnancy. So doing the two at the same time will be hard for u. No wonder u are grouchy. Just try and relax a little and have some time for yourself xx

kasareem · 26/06/2013 12:54

You too vkinski? My OH seems to find it hilarious when I'm grumpy! Fairydogmother and RJM, thanks for the sympathy- it really does help to be able to vent on here. Sadly I'm getting irritated by dsd, who really doesn't deserve it and doesn't know I'm pregnant so I can't even explain the hormones! Trying so hard to bite my tongue!

Hey!

I too am oh so grouchy / grumpy / horrible at the moment. My DP is bearing the brunt and I am being simply horrid to him. I'm OK during the day but as it gets later I start turning into the housemate from hell. Yesterday I ended up taking myself up to our bedroom so I wouldn't be mean to DP!

He gets it and is being very good but I feel sorry for him - this may go on for a few weeks yet!

I'm about 6 and something weeks so still a long journey ahead...ho hum...

Bejeena · 26/06/2013 13:02

I think every morning up until I was 13 weeks my poor husband got a right earful, it was like Groundhog Day for both of us. For me the instant nausea as soon as I got up which meant I took it out on him, kept telling him it was all his fault as he did this to me. Luckily he took it in his stride and once I got past first trimester and started feeling baby I went from being grouchy to soppy.

purpleaura · 26/06/2013 13:15

There's hope for the rest of us then Bejeena! I am 29+5 and super grumpy in the evenings. I would love for the grumpiness to be replaced by soppiness. I think DP is probably hoping for the same! But unless the aching hips and extreme tiredness disappear, I'm thinking the grump might be here to stay :( Poor DP!
