Craving cheese

Hey,

I thought that you craved stuff cos your body was deficient in it but today I have had milk in my cereal, two yoghurts AND cottage cheese but when I got home from work just now I just suddenly had the wildest craving for cheddar cheese and had to eat some there and then. If it isn't calcium I am craving what else might it be? Or am I just being greedy and fooling myself that my body needed it?

mmmmmmmm cheese

Might be the protein in cheese? Or it might be the fat if your baby is laying down fat stores? You get the weirdest cravings. I craved full fat jersey cream milk- drank pints of the stuff literally in the last six weeks. So strange, I normally can't stand the stuff.

How do you know you're not deficient in calcium? Your body needs different minerals at different stages of baby's development.

Or it could be the protein, the fat, or even the salt in the cheese that your body wants!

I've been pretty cheese obsessed through this whole pg, and in my first trimester cheese was one of the only things I could snack on without feeling sick. Turns out the cheese thing is quite common!

Are you worried about it? If so, why? Cheese is good.

I'm 24 weeks. I'm eating lots of cheese too. Please do tell me to stop.

Yeah I think you're right. I just need to stop worrying and embrace the cheese love! I now can't stop thinking about cheese fondue where they melt lots of cheese and then you dip things in it.

Cheese had been my favourite thing all pregnancy. I've not gained excessive amounts of weight so guess my body has been burning all the cheese Grin
I'm planning a board of my favourite forbidden cheeses after I give birth in August!

Between 4 and 6 weeks I ate my own body weight in dairy products, then morning sickness hit and I didn't touch it again until 18 weeks. I like to think my body was building up supplies in preparation.

I loved cheese when I was PG - and creamy sauces. I normally HATE creamy stuff. I ate loads and loads of cheese of all types :)

Like others above, cheese was one of the few things I could stomach in the early weeks. Still loving cheese, yoghurt, milk, mmmmmm
