Ok so I am 21 weeks pg with dc3, all day long I have had mid waist tightenings/pains (just above belly button). I have also had really bad diarrhoea (sorry tmi) for around 3 days now Sad
I do have a hernia in my belly button so i have put the pain down to that but it's a bit more higher so I have gathered it is not that.

I'm not sure what to do..has anyone got any good advice please?

Thank you in advance

you could just have an upset stomach and after 3 days of it you would be in pain, wouldn't know about the hernia, would have thought best thing would be get in and see a doctor in the morning.

At 21 weeks the uterus is only about 1cm higher than your belly button isn't it so hopefully too high up to be anything baby related.

watch out for strangulated hernia. sorry can't link as DD has just fallen asleep on me, I'm on phone.

google it.

if in UK call NHS helpline on 08454647 or your local hospital for more advice.

I don't know about hernia unfortunately (the only person I ever knew with one was an friend in college who got one in a place he didn't appreciate Wink) however just thought I'd mention, with the tummy upset it could be gastroenteritis, my husband had it when I was about 7/8 weeks and they said when you're pregnant you are more susceptible to getting it. Since tummy upsets lasted a few days it could be that, have you eaten anything funny recently, like a bad takeaway?

I agree though contact your midwife or epu ...and stay hydrated as tummy upsets can cause dehydration Sad.

Get well soon Thanks x

When I had food poisoning I had an upset tummy and also cramps, went to the doctor who said its normal. Maybe call mw just to be sure?

Thank you all for replying Smile

I'm much better this morning after a night of painkillers and fluids, so I'm guessing it probably was just a bug Smile
