Look in supermarkets for the bright colours, morrisons have got some nice ones, tesco have some Disney comic style ones with Mickey Mouse and sainsburys have a good range, I have got most of mine from next tbh but I have an account x

TinkyPeet · 24/06/2013 23:04

(Can't see your link btw as I'm on my phone and it wants me to download a shopping app so I can look at your link - cba lol)

Gumps · 24/06/2013 23:04

Oh baby London
If you register on their site they have some ridiculous sales of up to 60% off.

Gumps · 24/06/2013 23:05

My dis always manages to get cool stuff from next. I hate the store but apparently online it's way better.

RobotBananas · 24/06/2013 23:06

I'd try eBay tbh. Babies grow so fast that they're not in them long enough to wear them out, so you might get some good bargains.

There are some lovely ones at JL as well, but they're also £££

Gumps · 24/06/2013 23:06

Also the old green baby. I think it has been renamed as something along the line of green radicals.

gallicgirl · 24/06/2013 23:08

You know babygrows are unisex?

What's the Norwegian one, Polyart or something? Check mumsnet partners for a discount.

My ds has this in a jumper.

cupcake78 · 25/06/2013 03:05

I despair at the lack of affordable nice boys clothes! Ds is now 5 and its been a struggle from the beginning!

Can't really help. If you want reasonably priced your very restricted! IMO next online, Sainsburys, Gap online are your best bet but even then the range compared to girls stuff is minuscule!

pinkr · 25/06/2013 05:41

Get yourself to second hand baby fairs...i've picked up tons of perfect condition clothes for a pound or so. The wee things are only in them a matter of months so the condition is usually great. I got a dress I'd seen in next kids which was 25 for 2.50 the other week...the women said her daughter had worn it twice! In Scotland they're jack and Jill markets but I think nct does similar!

Chottie · 25/06/2013 05:54

Sign up for all sale / discount alerts. Jojo Maman Bebe have gorgeous boy's clothes, but they are expensive..... however the sales are really good.

Beamae · 25/06/2013 06:01

Be careful of the ohbaby sales though. I've bought sale stuff from them before and the poppers up the front weren't lined up with each other, so there were gaping holes. Someone at a baby group mentioned that was common with their sale products. Nice fabric though.

soapnuts · 25/06/2013 06:05

tk maxx - had some fab quality baby boy clothes from there - though do have to ignore the size label sometimes as each brand is different. next also good and m&s oh also bluezoo in debenhams has some good stuff

coffeewineandchocolate · 25/06/2013 06:08

tkmaxx is good for bargains but can be very hit and miss.

I have been looking for boyish/neutral babygros but I have an exacting list of Things I Don't Want which is making life difficult. I am also tight thrifty. I'd love to get the funky expensive ones, but they will grow out of them in about 10 minutes so I am looking out for second-hand but will probably just go for high street multipacks.

List of unacceptable things:

  • slogans or writing
  • pale/pastel blue (although that doggie one the OP linked to would be acceptable)
  • twee teddies or other Clinton's cards-esque pictures
  • tractors, cars, trains or other "boy" things

I found some reasonable ones with brightly coloured dinosaurs or sea creatures on in Mothercare, and some nice stripey ones in Next, which is probably what I'll end up going for.

HMT13 · 25/06/2013 09:06

my friend has got some gorgeous ones from Zara. Really different and not your usual 'boyish' pale blue with tractors on etc

TarkaTheOtter · 25/06/2013 10:12

H&M do bright, stripy vests and babygros on the cheap.

purpleaura · 25/06/2013 11:11

Peacocks have some super cheap baby clothes, nice bright colours too. I bought 3 decent quality cotton vests for £5, in bright blue, green and yellow. Very jolly.

Bog standard white ones and Dylon dyes in exciting colours - get creative! Our DSs had a series of tie-dyed ones.

LaVitaBellissima · 25/06/2013 12:35

Joules sale is fab for baby grows Smile

LeoandBoosmum · 25/06/2013 12:47

I almost bought these as a gift (got a baby towel and shoes instead).
They are super cute though. Babygrows with 'Don't wake me, I'll wake you' and 'I'll have a bottle of the House White, 'Nappy Downloading' written on them.

All the same seller and there are more. Don't know if he or she combines p&p. Smile
