I'm 29 weeks and woke up this morning (1:30 am) with extreme pain in my stomach and back. Even had period type pain feeling.., DH called ambulance and when we arrived at the hospital and the doctor checked me over, the results where early contraction with bladder infection with possible kidney infection. Got antibiotics right away. Have to go back later again for some more..

Once I was on the drip I had contractions every 10 min. For an hour.. Doc send me home. With telling me to rest and watch if they get worse..

Well not a good time right now as we sold our house and have to be out of our house by Thursday.

Anyone else had something similar and baby came later and not early?

So sorry to hear you've been through this.

I had consistent bladder infections for about 3 or 4 weeks which caused lots of contractions. Never hospitalised but lots of antibiotics and scans.

Am now 25 weeks, and although still have hourly contractions, the infections cleared and all is well.

I am sure that if they have diagnosed you, given the antibiotics, you will be fine, it's when they progress un noticed you could have problems.

Hope you feel better soon :)

Thanks..
I was pretty shocked when the doc told me I had bladder infections. As I didn't even had any symptoms..

Poor husband has to do all the packing now... :-)

At 33weeks I had shocking pains in my shoulder blade & back. Went to get checked out to rule out Pre-eclampsia just in case and ended up in hospital for a week with a kidney infection! Had no other symptoms at allHmm First lot of antibiotics did nothing do took a while to get sorted and a further week on bed-rest. Can't believe how much it took out of me. All done now and no early labour
