Feeling really low, not very positive at all.

Blood is pink - not old and brown anymore but not really fresh and red either. Mixed up with lots of cm.

Having low level period cramps but they don't seem to be shifting (felt like this until about now with DS but no blood) and they are beginning to really bother me. While they're there I can't take my mind off it.

Also feeling really nauseous but I suppose this could be worry.

Have had blood tests today and more on Wednesday to monitor hcg levels.

Any success stories to cheer me up?

Xx

Hi op

I'm between 8-9 weeks and have been bleeding for 2 weeks of and on. It has mostly been brown blood mixed with discharge (sorry tmi), but the first week I did have red blood and some pink stringy bits. I went for an early scan at 6 weeks and there was a heartbeat.

It is still really worrying as I am still showing discolored discharge even now, but what I'm trying to say is that blood doesn't always necessarily mean a bad thing. It's more than likely to be implementation bleeding.

I'd get in touch with your midwife to see if she can get you seen at your early pregnancy unit.

Fingers crossed for you x

Hey. I had this from 5 weeks right up to 14 weeks and I'm now 19 weeks and baby is doing well. Try not to worry I know its scary but it is quite common to have bleeding during pregnancy xx

sleepcrisis · 24/06/2013 17:44

Thanks both. Did you have the cramping along with the blood? It is the two together that really freaks me out... But it is so nice to hear some success stories...

I had this at 6 or so weeks, then bright red blood at 16 weeks. Periof like pains are also normal early on with all the changing and stretching down there. I'm 35+5 today! Sometimes its just one of those things, no reason for it. Stay positive xx

Hi there

My experience on this, which won't tell you much but may help: I have had one successful pregnancy and one early miscarriage, and in both cases I started bleeding at around 5 weeks. The difference was that in the case of the m/c, the bleedier got heavier within 24 hours, and became like a full-on period and it was just obvious I was losing it. In the other case, I had a small amount of the sort of blood you describe for a few days in small quantities and then it just went away. And heartbeat detected fine at 8 weeks. Then had the same minor bleeding again at 16 weeks and again, turned out to be nothing worrying. Cramping - again, I had it with miscarriage, like a period, but I also had it for the first few weeks of my successful pregnancy. So I don't think you can take this as a sign either way.
Hope all turns out okay.

I thought I had but in reality I think sometimes as you are thinking the worst is going to happen, you imagine them being worse than they are iyswim? It is normal to have mild cramps in early pregnancy too. I felt very crampy with DS.

Please call your mw tomorrow though. She should put your mind at ease.

I had cramping as well and was told its all part of being pregnant and ur body stretching and preparing for the baby. Xx

Futterby · 24/06/2013 17:50

I had bleeding and cramping at six weeks, currently 17 weeks and feeling my wee peanut jump about in there :) best of luck Flowers

Thanks for more positive stories. I can't seem a midwife - not in UK and under gp care until 10ish weeks. She would send me for scan but said today was too early and I could have one at 6 weeks if not settled down.

So am having progressive hcg blood testing for the time being. One blood test today and another on Wednesday. Guess I'll get results on Thursday. Feels like an eternity to wait! I have really bad nausea too and am ravenous so feel quite pregnant in that respect! Think the cramps are getting worse though :(

I had very bad cramps at about 6 weeks, so bad it would wake me up in agony. I was told it was just the uterus expanding, getting ready etc.

Also experienced blood a few weeks later, some fresh, so old brown blood. I think sometimes it just happens.
Try not to worry :) I know that's very easy to say, and hard to do, I was a major worrier at the beginning!
But I'm 36 weeks today so these symptoms don't always mean its over!
Ring your midwife for reassurance or if the symptoms get worse.
Hope everything works out :)

Like RachelW76 I've experienced both a mc and successful pregnancy both with similar symptoms. The difference for me was that before the mc my morning sickness stopped, other than that the bleeding (until I actually passed the "products of conception" as they called it) was very similar - some bright red blood and lots of cramping.

I hope that everything works out for you but at this stage only time will tell. I don't want to worry you (any more than you already are!) but do watch for signs of ectopic pregnancy - the bleeding with increasing nausea matches the symptoms of a couple of my friends who've been through ectopic pregnancies.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

sleepcrisis · 24/06/2013 21:18

Thanks all of you. I'm really struggling with this. I'm fairly convinced it is a mc - the bleeding has become more red and more constant, not yet like a period though. I am wearing a pad :(

What I do t understand is how do I know?! I went to outnf hrs gp this evening. They won't scan me as too early and it's a waste of time as it doesn't change anything - what will be will be etc. she ruled out ectopic though by prodding around my sides.

So if I am misscarrying, how do I know? Do my hcg levels drop overnight? When will I test negative? And also how do I know my cycles back on track? I guess I'd need to wait for another period right?

It's the not knowing that is SO hard.

I had cramping and spotting at what I estimate would have been 6 weeks. Didn't know I was pregnant at the time which I'm glad about now because it meant I didn't have to go through all the worry you clearly are now. The cramps were similar to a period pain, kind of a dull ache in my lower back, and the spotting a brownish red, looked exactly like my period, infact I thought it was my period starting but it only lasted a few hours. I still get the pain in my lower back now but the spotting has stopped. I'm now ten weeks and my scan last week showed a healthy baby and my bump is definitely getting bigger (hubby is a photographer and is taking a picture every week so we can see it grow). I know it's worrying but so many women experience this and have healthy pregnancies. Fingers crossed for you xx

sleepcrisis · 25/06/2013 08:00

It's like a period now so back off to the conception boards I go.

Thanks for all the support

Oh sleep... I'm so sorry Sad xx

SmeeHee · 25/06/2013 16:11

Sorry that it's not sounding very positive for you Sad In answer to your question about hcg levels - it took about 10 days for me to get a negative home pregnancy test after my mc.

My cycle returned to normal very quickly. I couldn't try again straight away as the scans I had revealed a medical problem that needed dealing with first, otherwise I would have done. You don't need to wait until after your next period - it helps with dating but there's no medical reason you can't try again immediately.

Take care of yourself and go with whatever feels right for you. I hope that you get the result you want soon. Flowers
