So job hunting whilst pregnant is a big fat bust, which incidently is kind of what I feel like now.

My boobs won't even fit in my sports bra any more without being uncomfortable 4 boobs and smart interview clothes seem to scream LOOK AT MY HUGE BELLY! I'm only 17 weeks! Can't buy any maternity clothes until I get a job sob

I just walked 4miles there and back to be told the recruitment company made a mistake and didn't check my c.v properly because the temp job she was gushing to tell me about was with a company who made me redundant so apparently I can't temp with them! Blistery feet for nothing!

Just found out I will prob lose my teacher training job offer in Sept because of Pregnancy so that dream is gone too.

Come back to the house which is a tip (my fault for being lax all weekend due to DPs birthday) THEN the cat throws up, not on the laminate where it can be cleaned easily...but on the only rug in the fudging house! Aaaarrrrgghhh! Sorry I need to rant and drink a large glass ofWine but seeing as that is off the cards can anyone cheer me up?

and...breathe

Aww poor love. Can DP come home and pamper you a bit? Things will work out. Flowers

Gerty1002 · 24/06/2013 17:05

Have you checked your rights regarding the teacher training job? Not sure how it works with training but pregnant ladies have all sorts of rights that protect them from being discriminated against just because they are pregnant. Worth doing a bit of research. I went through a lot of job stress at the beginning of my pregnancy too, so I know how stressful it is and hope it all works out for you.

PumpkinPie2013 · 24/06/2013 17:09

Oh dear poor you! Have a Brew and Biscuit to start with! And of course a congratulations on your pregnancy!! You're at a similar stage to me - I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and got a bump though not huge but noticeable Smile

Recruitment company sound like they suck so I'm Angry for you!!!! How could she fail to read a cv properly stupid woman!! Hope you told her the trouble you had gone to getting there!

It's a shame about your teaching offer Sad I'm a teacher but did PGCE -is this what you're doing? If so you should be able to defer?

Or is it a school based one? Sorry I'm not familiar with those but seems unfair they can effectively finish you due to pregnancy?! Can you see CAB for some advice on this? If worst happens can you apply again next year
or for a PGCE?

My house is also a tip Shock we are decorating/clearing out so that's making mess Angry No advice on the rug - can you hire a rug doctor?

Hope you feel better soon x

Totally agree with job hunting whilst pregnant sucking!! I was searching right up to 16 weeks and it was horrendous because my bump bece visible quite early on! As soon as I walked in I could see people clicking my stomach and knew that was the end of that job! But fortunately I managed to get a temp job that will end in September when I will be 32 weeks so quite happy to start maternity then. Keep ur chin up and hopefully something will come along for u soon. I would keep trying for the temp roles.
And contact your local job centre as they can help with buying interview clothes so u could get some maternity ones which may help hide the bump a little bit.
Hope ur feeling better soon!! Go have a nice relax in the bath and let DH do the cleaning hehe xx

Really sorry you had a crap day!! I am 18 + 1 and sporting a rather large bump and feel like a bit of an imposter wearing maternity clothes already, so I am down to my last 2 work tops that don't make me look ridiculous.

I hope your luck changes, and tomorrow is a better day Flowers

riskit4abiskit · 24/06/2013 19:00

sorry to hear about your crap day.

pretty sure you can defer teacher training a year once offered a place tho, if that helps?

when you feel the baby move, it will all feel worthwhile, I promise!

everythinghippie29 · 25/06/2013 11:34

Thank you for all the nice responses! DP came home and we pigged out on sweets and bad tv so it was a nice chilled out evening. Tackling the house today!

As for my teacher training, its the new School Direct program, so was supposed to work on placement for a year and obtain my PGCE whilst working. Its the first year they have ran it in my area so no precedent for pregnancy! Apparently its up to the school if they let me defer and start next September or if I have to reapply/reinterview next year. fingers crossed!

Hope all you other ladies with growing bumps are feeling better today too! Grin Thanks
