I haven't had any trouble apart from in the beginning as a result of severe dehydration!

Why now?

I am drinking loads so I can't be dehydrated this time! I'm about to crack out the prune juice.

Any other tips? Am I wishful thinking that this is my body slowing up ready for labour?

Oh dear, you are lucky you've escaped till now! I'm constipated all the time and only 13 wks! Was about to suggest prunes and see you have that covered. Should work a treat!

Oh. Also find a small helping of muesli with bio yoghurt helps me

Bananas, dried apricots, figs, bran.... be prepared for them to suggest ahem...an enema at the hospital.

i was badly constipated last week, so bad in fact that rubber gloves were involved!! by me not a doc, i know, unpleasant but i was desparate
rang gp on friday morning who prescribed some lactulose for me, much relief came later that day, although major sore stingy bum thats prob how my bits will feel after birth and am now bricking it!! cos it was so big. sorry if tmi lol.
get the prune juice in, add hot water to it, eat plenty of apples and pears etc, if no relief ask gp to give you something. last thing you want is an impaction. that defo would need an enema or manual evacuation.
oh, and plenty of water!! hth

Lactulose!! And as much water and fruit juice as you can consume this will loosen it all for you! I had constipation from about 37 weeks until labour and had baby 10 weeks ago and after the midwife told me that I wasn't that constipated it was baby's head pressing on everything and stopping it and I had back labour the whole time too so in my experience (obviously each has a different one) this was baby moving down and getting ready, now I had constipation on and off throughout my entire pregnancy especially at the start but at the end it was very sore and painful if this is similar to you it could be things starting to move in the right direction!good luck!!

39+6 and Syrup of Figs sorts me out when required. Smile

Thanks!! I don't think a complete loss in appetite and return of nausea is helping!

Haven't quite been able to face the prune juice yet... Up I do get your theory lynzi that baby is moving downSmile
