Contraction?

My best friend was due yesterday, she asked my to describe a contraction, I described a bad period pain that lasts for 10-20secs or so then stops.

My dd is 2 so my memory of labour is hazy!

Does tummy going hard and pain in fanjo sound like it?

I have told her to download a contraction timer on her iPhone and time them. She is an hour away from the hospital! Shock

I cant answer this as I'm due with my first and haven't had any Braxton Hicks, I just wanted someone to answer you as I would like to know too! From what I have been told it starts like period pains, and Braxton Hicks feel like a tightening all over bump that holds and then releases so guess that you experience that with a contraction.
