Thanks for the birthday wishes peeps!

Happy Birthday Choc

This is what July birthdays should be about; sunshine in the garden. Loving it!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 06/07/2013 20:07

sorry to hear about your sore back lucky. mine is very sore when i wake up in the morning, really sore down into the sides of my bum but seems to get better if i have a walk about a bit. i got a lumber support (in poundland) for my seat in work and it seems to help a bit but i think i need to treat myself to a good maternity massage.

we went to visit some friends and their babies today and came away having bought their pram off them!! now the proud owners of a bugaboo cameleon!!!!! can't believe it! i hadn't even looked at them in the shops as i knew i'd never be able to afford one but they sold it to us for £200! and the base fits in my mini!! just have to get the maxi cosi car seat and attachment and we're in business!! meeeeep!!

hope you birthday girls are having a great day with lots of sunshine :)

Bodicea · 06/07/2013 20:57

Awesome janie, wish I knew someone selling there bugaboo! Think we are almost definitely getting one. Although DH wants a recaro car seat coz they make racing car seats. He is a bit of a petrol head!

Hope back improves lucky. I would take rest of evening off and get DH to get out of bed.

My bump appears to get bigger as the day goes on. Have to loosen the bobble on my work trousers by the end of day. Have just ordered some black maternity trousers for work. Perhaps should have checked with my boss first but I have just been handed a pile of old uniforms that people handed in when they left and I cant keep going up a size in our lovely burgundy trousers as they are mahhooosive every where else on me!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 06/07/2013 21:11

Hey,

Tentatively and very anxiously dipping my toe in on this thread. About 4+2 so gut wrenchingly early days. Been really teary since finding out which is odd as a BFP is what I've wanted obsessively for five months; I suspect its a combination of anxiety and some new hormones. What is the earliest I can go for some kind of 'viability' scan?

Its lovely to catch up with you all and so amazing how far on you all are - gives me a bit of posifrickintivity through the mild hysteria.

Happy Birthdays Choc and Garden.

jmf294 · 06/07/2013 21:21

Welcome Camomile- the early days are so hard as we all know, just take 1 day at a time and today you are pregnant!!

Hope choc and garden have had a lovely birthday!!

Janie- hurrah for your bugaboo!! What colour is the fabric?
Bod- what about looking on ebay- now thy have launched the cameleon version 3 older cameleons should sell for less. I have the 2 nd version- bought it 3 years ago and love it!!

Happy holidays Pentagon!!

Hope envy one is enjoying the weekend- nice and warm but now I have sore swollen feet!!

IBelieveInPink · 06/07/2013 21:26

Congratulations camomile! Bear with it, one day at a time. It does get easier, promise.

Ooh Janie - fantastic pram purchase, how exciting! What a bargain!

Loving this hot weather, although I ate too much BBQ food! Yum :)

Congrats camo!!! Great to see you here :) as everyone says, one day at a time, and yes today you are pregnant!!! I'm doing a happy dance for you!!!

I'm so excited about our bugaboo, I never dreamed I'd have one! She was about to put it on gumtree so it was perfect timing! It's black with red fabric, I think it might be the first version but I'm not bothered, it's hardly been used, as she had 2 babies within 14 months so has been using a double buggy and the bugaboo had just been wrapped up in their attic! So it's had max 1 yrs use, the wheels look brand new! Having it certainly makes everything feel very real eek!! It means I can afford a better mattress for our cot bed (given to us by a friend) and maybe some nice accessories for the buggy :) eek! SmileSmile

andadietcoke · 06/07/2013 23:41

janie if you're feeling extra brave we just got our maxi cosi car seats in the mothercare sale then with an extra 15% off. You might also want to check whether you need to get a new handle... www.bugaboo.com/444

camomile I'm so, so pleased to see you here Smile I had a scan at 7+4. It does get easier, and I'm so pleased you've found this thread. Between us we've had every non-bleeding miscarriage-esque pregnancy symptom known to woman, and we're all still pregnant. Take every day at a time. It will go bloody slowly, it really will, but every day is a day you're still pregnant. Do not Google Wink

Hope you're all coping okay in the sun. I went to a tamba ante natal class today. It was good except DH went to the pub to watch the lions at 10.30 and by 1pm when I picked him up had had 4 pints and a rum and coke. He did make it quite a lot more entertaining and I don't think anyone else noticed and I think he enjoyed it more than he would have done sober. Wonder about spiking his breakfast orange juice before the NCT classes...

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 06/07/2013 23:56

Oh thanks anda, I'm feeling quite brave, I also bought a cow print babygro today in h&m in the sale :) will defo look at mothercare for the seat, might do that after the scan on Monday eek! And thanks do much for the link re. The handle, will check the serial number in the morning. Brill advice xx

That's so funny about your DH!!! Maybe that's how I can convince DH that antenatal classes are worthwhile, (he thinks they'll be cringeworthy and embarrassing) get him pissed beforehand haha!!! Great trick!

Night night all, I'm off to bed full of posifrickintivity!! Being taken for afternoon tea tomorrow by my mum and get friend as a pregnant treat!! Can't wait, I think it's the treat I needed after a long and yukky week! Xxx

Rockchick1984 · 07/07/2013 07:34

Congratulations camomile!!! I know what you mean about being so terrified, but I'm trying to just be excited and ignore the nagging worries about "what if it all goes wrong" because I know that if when this baby is born I want to have enjoyed my pregnancy, not spent the whole time feeling negative! I had antenatal depression when I had DS so am also wary of focusing on things which may trigger that again.

Janie we did NCT antenatal with my first, after the last class we all went to the pub, then a few weeks later all the men met up in the pub for an afternoon. Never became a regular thing but even now 2 years later they still occasionally do it - would that work as a carrot to dangle???

Well, after the EPU promising me after the MMC that I could have scans at 8, 10 and 12 weeks, I got a letter from the midwives with my booking appointment. There was a section they can fill in at the top for a date and time for an early scan, they had just written "will discuss at booking appt" - booking in isn't til 10 weeks Hmm I'm away this coming week but will go to the dr next Mon or Tue and beg him to refer me I think, even just a 10 week scan would be better than nothing as 8 week scan last time was perfect then 12 weeks showed MMC at 8.5 weeks.

ChocolateCremeEggBag · 07/07/2013 10:02

Belated Happy Birthday too Garden! Our broadband went off on Friday and only back this morning (super high speed connection in Yorkshire Hmm) although it has been quite liberating to be "off line" for a while (other than MN)

Had a lovely day, village games day - DS thought they'd put up bunting just for "mummy's party".

Great to see you here Camo!!! Congratulations on your BfP! I waited until I was 9 weeks for my early scan. Felt I had to get past my mc week from last time. I would try to wait until at least 7-8weeks to be sure of seeing HB but some scan places may offer a follow up scan if it's too early (but best ring to check) it's vv nerve wracking having to wait it out though I agree.

Janie great news re bugaboo, I have my friends second hand bee and it's really lasted well. I'm thinking of getting a carrycot which will fix on the frame with maxi cost car seat adapters as the Bee doesn't have a good one on it's own (you have to strap them in to the cocoon so end up waking them up to get them out of the pram which isn't much use at times). There are a few posts on MN about people doing this.

PostmanPatsBlackandWhiteCat · 07/07/2013 10:57

Hello ladies

Can I nervously pop my head in I have just have a bfp after having a mc in September. I am quite nervous about it. I am going to make an appointment to see the midwife next week.I think I am due in early March
I hope every one is feeling well.

Lieslvontrapp · 07/07/2013 16:59

Welcome camomille and postman and congrats on the bfps. The first weeks definitely go very slow but just taking one day at a time is the way to go.

Hope everyone is having a nice sunday and enjoying Wimbledon and the sunshine. I'm still on holiday. 3 days left. It's gone so quick. I'm 8+4 today and now only 6 days until my private scan. I keep going over the 2 scenarios in my head. I guess what will be will be!

Pentagon · 07/07/2013 18:35

welcome chamo & post and congratulations on your BFPs! The early days are really hard, I tried to distract myself and not think about the pregnancy too much - it was the only way to go through it!

rock, I hope you can get a scan at 9 or 10 weeks - it's better than 12 I agree and if your MMC was at 8.5 it should put your mind at rest. I had a good scan at 6 week but it was too early - I couldn't get another one at the EPU so I had one privately at 10+ weeks which helped a lot. I had my booking appointment 2-3 days before my 10 week scan and was really pessimistic and dismissive of everything! If you can get a scan before your appointment, it would be ideal

janie great purchase, I'm jealous! Smile

lievs hope you're enjoying your holiday!

We're having a lovely time but, like jmf, my feet are a bit swollen due to the heat as are my fingers - I can't put my rings on, I'm afraid I won't be able to take them off again!

DIYandEatCake · 07/07/2013 22:29

Welcome camomile and postman, lovely to see you here and hope you both have happy and uneventful pregnancies! The early weeks are by far the worst, feel free to worry here as much as you like though! rockchick hope you get your early scan.

Glad everyone's enjoyed the weekend, I have too, I had an early birthday treat today (birthday's not til Wednesday) of 3 hours in town by myself with some spending money, dp looked after dd and fed her lunch, it was bliss! Managed to buy a new dress, trousers, top and earrings all in the sales, and had lunch by myself. Then a lovely BBQ with friends. Then Murray went and did it! Yay! Awesome day.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 07/07/2013 22:48

hi postman!! congrats on your bfp :) you're in great company here, these ladies have got me through every up and down possible :)

diy your day sounds like heaven! i hate shopping with other people, i like taking my time having a mosey around and hate it if i feel there's someone waiting on me to try stuff on etc...DH tends to wait at the shop door so i feel like i have to hurry so we made an agreement not to bother going shopping together!! what a perfect day!

anda i checked our serial number and looks like ours is ok so no need to get the replacement. thanks so much for the tip :) still on cloud nine having it! choc yes we're getting the maxi cosi seat and adaptors so it's easier for short trips, good that the carrycot turns into the pushchair seat in ours! feel like i've totally won the lottery having it! been watching you tube videos on how to assemble it etc haha!

hope you've all had great weekends! my mum and her friend treated me to posh afternoon tea today at the Titanic Museum in Belfast and we were sitting right my the fancy replica staircase! was lush! i even had a little glass of bubbly! it was my mums friends idea to celebrate me becoming a mummy and my mum becoming a granny!

10 hours and 13 minutes until our big scan...hoping i haven't jinxed anything my getting the pram gulp.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 07/07/2013 22:58

My birthday is on weds too, DIY! Lots of summer born ladies here! Let's hope the weather holds out Grin

pumpkinsweetie · 08/07/2013 06:25

Goodluck for your scan janieSmile! x
Well done on your super purchase, what a bargain and i'm so jealousEnvy, would never be able to afford a bugaboo & even second hand in my area i have not seen any for £200, so you have saved loadsSmile

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 08/07/2013 07:30

thanks blackholes and pumkin, oh i'm really nervous now, had some crazy dreams that we'd had the scan but i hadn't been watching the screen or listening so came out not knowing what the outome was aaarrgrghh!

pumpkin ours is a first generation cameleon, there have been 2 other models since this one, maybe that's why it's a bit cheaper than some. but i'm not bothered, it' in good nick and works!! yay xx

IBelieveInPink · 08/07/2013 08:14

Enjoy your scan today Janie! Let us know how you hey on, very exciting!

LuckySocks13 · 08/07/2013 10:10

Happy Scan day janie. Get those lucky socks ready! My DD was so shy at our scan last week and kept her hands over her face and turned her back! All was great but no pics. I'm soo tired today. Really suffering from insomnia! DS woke at 2.30 am for a wee and I couldn't get back to sleep. I nearly cried when the birds started singing !

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 08/07/2013 10:15

ooooh we seem to have a pretty happy little baby in there!!! scan went really well, baby's head was nestled down as low as could be so i had to go for a pee and come back hopping into the scan room and the wee monkey turned to face us!! hiya!!!!

never been so relieved, felt sick with nerves on the way to the hospital. the radiographer and midwife were so lovely, it makes such a difference when they are nice people.

one day out so edd is now 23rd november. can't believe this is all happening! bring it on!! DH and i have made a deal to be full of posifrickintivity from here on in :) and he didn't even flinch when the midwife booked us in for our antenatal classes! score!

now off to work, i hope it's not as horrible as most mondays, i sooo don't want this happy bubble to burst!

DIYandEatCake · 08/07/2013 10:21

Aw lucky, hope you get some rest today. Good luck for your scan janie hope all goes well. Yes it was heaven, first time I've been shopping without a baby/toddler for over 2 years, was so relaxing! I thought shopping with dp was bad too, but shopping with a 2 year old is in another league...!
Oh and if anyone's looking for cheap summer dresses for this hot weather, Store 21 (? Think it used to be qs) have quite a few that are gathered under the bust rather than the waist, got a nice stripy cotton one that is quite flattering for 4.99 yesterday.
