Stretch Marks!

Hi I'm only 13 weeks ( had my dating scan today so overly excited)

I am showing slightly but more bloat than bump.

Should I be using a moisturiser/lotion daily to try to avoid stretch marks? I do moisturise all over every now and then but not very regularly.

Can you recommend what I should be using if I need to start every day?

Thanks Lou x

Congratulations

I'm 17 weeks and use bio-oil (nearly) every day. It's quite reasonable on amazon. I started quite early on.

I have been using bio oil every night since i found out- im 26+3 now and none so far and i am pretty big for 26 weeks. I don't believe this is a miracle cure but if it can help at all then there is no harm. Apparently the key is to massage and rub belly. Drink plenty of water too

I spent my pregnancy slightly slippery at all times, cocoa butter every morning & bio-oil every evening. I thought I'd escaped then got stretch marks all up my belly a week before having her. My mum had the same & apparently a lot of it is genetic. Don't worry too much, what will be, will be!

Typically stretch marks don't appear until late pregnancy (38 weeks plus). It's good to start using something from 20 weeks...the Mamma Mio oil is amazing, smells divine and is all natural but unfortunately is £23,Neal's Tard also do a nice one for £12 and the boots Mummy to be one is really lovely

Ha! I spent an absolute fortune on bio oil, i applied it religiously and my stretch marks rival a tiger's stripes! They're still pink 9 months post-partum. What a waste of time and money.

I started on the bio oil at 7 weeks, am using it religiously each night. It may not work in the long run (no marks yet) but am not willing to stop, just on the small chance it may help.
