Cold/ Chest infection

Anyone have any good ideas about treating a cold/ chest infection while pregnant? I've had one almost a week now and starting to get bored.

I've tried honey and lemon which is nice on my throat, and steam inhalations which I normally swear by have done exactly nothing.

I've got a banging head from coughing so much and feel really sorry for myself. Am off to have a (slightly hotter than) tepid bath to see if that will improve my mood if nothing else.

Sniffle.

Have you been to GP? I've currently got tonsillitis and have been given penicillin, which seems to be working. Also paracetamol is safe to take as long as you dont go over recommended dosage.

Thank you! I called the GP earlier this week when I found out I'd potentially been exposed to chicken pox (all fine) but think I may need to revisit him on Monday if I'm still like this. It really sucks not being able to dose up on benylin!

Paracetamol as above.

Antibiotics as prescribed if bacterial infection needs clearing up.

See here also suggests guafesenin may be ok:
