Defying Gravity - help needed

Ladies I need some advice/help from you...

I am 31 and half weeks pg and was hospitalised on Monday due to excruciating pains in my stomach - they are so bad I can barely bend, stand up straight, sit or lay down without nearly blacking out from the pain. I saw my GP who ruled out UTI but was very concerned by how tender my tummy was when she pressed on the lower part of it.

Flash forward 6 hours and having been monitored and checked over in triage by their doctors I am told that the problem is gravity and the fact I am a little bit overweight - I was 12st 9 when I had my booking in apt in Jan and am now 14st 4 so not put on a lot but was prob about 2st overweight before hand - but had gone from being nearly 16 stone in March 2012 so don't feel too bad about his comments as am proud of how far I had come.

Anyway he says that the extra weight I carry plus baby plus gravity is pulling everything down through the day and resting on the lowest of my stomach muscles and causing the pain - I am slightly sceptical as it has been getting bad first thing in the morning as soon as I get out of bed and his take was things drop during the day

Assuming he is right is there anything I can do to defy gravity and lift the bump a bit? I am taking paracetamol but can't take codeine as am allergic but the Dr gave me zero advice. It is making me so miserable and depressed not to mention grumpy and horrid to DP cos I hurt so much - I really can't take another 8+ weeks of this Sad

Have you tried a bump band? You can get a couple of types, ones from clothes shops are quite loose, just used for extending tops really but you can get more supportive ones, try mamas & papas or jojo maman bebe.

What about an obstetric physio? Ask your GP for a referal.

already under them for PGP and they have been less than useless for that unfortunately
