Baby bump or bloating?

I'm about 7-8 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I've either got some sizeable bloating going on or I'm showing early.. I didn't think it was possible to show this early! I'm normally a size 10 and my clothes don't fit me properly anymore. I've got the pics on my profile page. Can anyone tell me if it's bloating or an early bump?

My hcg levels were also more than doubling and someone that could be twins.. however I had an early scan on Sunday and there was just 1 baby and 1 heartbeat, surely they can tell if there's 2 in there by now?

Early on I remember just feeling bloated, I think that's really normal. Congratulations by the way :)

Thank you! I wasn't expecting it to be a baby bump this early but DP's mum is adamant for some reason that it's a bump!
I've done a quick google and it seems everyone's different.. however I must only be 8 weeks at the very most, so surely there'd be nothing 'there' to make a bump IYKWIM.

I had a lot of bloating and water retention in the early weeks - it was just that not the baby showing in my case. I'm 14 weeks now and the bloating has reduced a bit and instead my stomach is starting to change shape and feel a bit firmer (you can start to feel your uterus)

Early scans are usually good at determining whether you have a multiple pregnancy so if there is only one baby, then there's only one. :)

Congratulations and enjoy the journey !

Thank you Twicky. I think it's just bloating. People seem to get it really bad in the early weeks. Someone at work yesterday asked if I was pg because apparently I have a bump so that's what made me realise. I work in a high-end fashion store and have to wear dresses so I can't really hide it either :(

That's what I thought re multiples. DP's mum again was the one who put that idea into my head, and said I might get a shock...

I meant it made me realise that I've definitely gotten bigger, not that I was pregnant!

I was quite bloaty at first as well, I only did a test because my jeans button popped off while out to dinner with DH and I didn't want to think I was just getting fat Grin. Now 17 weeks, I just feel bloaty/big but DH insists it's a bump, I'm waiting for that big kinda bump where everyone just knows it's because you're pregnant haha x

I was super bloated in first trimester - this is my first but had to buy maternity jeans at about 8 weeks, all my usual clothes felt ridiculous! Thought everyone would know instantly by looking at me, turns out they hadn't noticed but I definitely felt huge... And much worse in the evenings! Good luck with everything x

It's bloating. The baby will only be a few mm big, so it's not that pushing your stomach out. But it's normal to be bloated in the early weeks.

Yes. I remember now, bloating was squishy and wobbly, baby bump was hard. Now baby is 8 months old, and I'm squishy and wobbly all over again ;)
