The hospital where in due to have the baby do aromatherapy oils to help encourage labour/pain relief etc an Iv just picked some up as I'm 38wks. Just wondering if anyone has used them and they have triggered labour? Or are they just a load of rubbish an wont help?

Hi sorry I have no advice here, just wanted to bump the post up for you Smile

Also was wondering if oils are safe in second trimester, ie lavender to help me relax as I'm really stressed out and can't sleep?

Clary sage really helped me focus (and helped me feel like I was doing something to keep calm) during labour. I sniffed it on a flannel before going onto gas and air. Really recommend it, for the action of deeply inhaling it (before a long groan of an exhale) just as the much as the stuff itself. The breathing really got me through. Good luck!

I'm 34 weeks and have been burning lavender and geranium oils -- lovely and relaxing xx
