Stupid hospital bag question

Where I live (Ireland) first time mothers spend 3 days in hospital. I went packing my hospital bag last night and realised I had enough room for baby stuff only. It's a carry on size bag.

My 3 options are take the carry on bag and get DH to bring in stuff as I need it
Take carry on bag and weekend bag
Take big suitcase (which is quite big and don't want to look ridiculous!)

One bag for you, one bag for baby, easier all round x

I'd take the one for baby and one for you. It'll keep things separate and simple, you'll know exactly which bag to go to for what you need, instead of fighting though a big suitcase full of stuff. Getting your other half to bring stuff in also seems like an extra hassle to organise when things are hectic anyway. Mine is so forgetful, even if I wrote one he'd loose the list bless him! X

Thanks ladies. It does make perfect sense when put like that! Wonder how long till I'm confused by something else obvious!

Or you can pack small ' labour bag' ie one clean change for you, Baby first vest/ babygrow/ hat, snack, anything you might need before/ during birth.

Then 'hospital bag' with everything else needed for you both for next 3 days.

Means the large bag can be left somewhere and smaller moved with you if you end up moving ward/ c section etc etc...
