How to get through the last few weeks

I'm 36 weeks and will be csection in a few weeks so I know I haven't got long to go.

However I feel like I'm going insane with not knowing what to do with myself.

Can't walk much, can't sit much, have stopped driving, can't concentrate on anything really, can find conversations with anyone quite difficult to concentrate on
Keep having stop start contractions,

Just feel like I'm in no mans land really

How do others get through this period?

I'm just in agony on a night, I feel like crying. I'm 36 weeks too but with no definite plan from my consultant which isn't helping, been to adau today and they think she may discuss induction with me next week but she may not. My other 2 pregnancies weren't this bad towards the end.

It's a really frustrating time isn't it?

Things that (sort of) helped me were:

  • getting some dvd box sets and movies and watching them
  • eating what you want, when you want it, incl lots of takeaways
  • daytime napping to make up for the missed sleep at night
  • nice long baths (if you can still get in and out of the tub - I needed help)
  • little walks, even just up and down the street, to make sure you get some fresh air
  • chatting to bump and playing it music
  • making some cakes or meals you can put in the freezer
  • booking some shopping deliveries for after baby comes
  • if you can bear to, getting out to some mother and baby type groups to meet people and get some last-minute tips

Ultimately, I still spent the last weeks feeling very out of sorts and with lots of aches and pains, so I don't think there's anything that'll really stop that. However, you can hopefully at least find some ways of distracting yourself!

Reading with interest ... 37 wks + and the baby shows no signs of movement. I'm prepared to be here for another month, but not quite sure what to do with my less and less mobile body ...

I'm 38 weeks and chewing up the hours playing dumb computer games on my phone - candy crush, fashion story, you name it. Swallows time - especially at 5:30 am!
