I could easily pass for five months gone.

It's DC2 (DD 13mo), so I know an early bump was to be expected.

But this early?

I haven't been overdoing it on the carbs, and we eat really healthily. I haven't put on any weight according to the scales.

Anyone had this? And not had twins?

I think a lot of bloating is common in the early days and maybe that's more noticeable as it's not your first pregnancy?

IdaClair · 18/06/2013 18:50

It'll be a sizeable bloat at 5 weeks I'm afraid , it's all the hormones. Should go back down again before the bump comes in a few months. I've four pregnancies and not had a bump until past 20 weeks each time

BabyLabyrinth · 18/06/2013 19:03

sizeable bloat sounds even worse!

and Envy at Ida not having a bump till 20 weeks. Even with DD I was definitely showing at 12 weeks. Size of a small house by 39 weeks.

I had massive bloating from 4 - 5 weeks, I'm now just over 7 weeks with DC2. The bloat is finally going and my tubby spare tire belly is starting to fill out a bit like it did last time. I was showing at around 12 weeks last time (in maternity trousers at 8 weeks) and started wearing my mat jeans at 6 weeks as they are much more comfortable.

Bloating, not a bump. Your uterus hasn't changed size yet!

Franykins · 20/06/2013 11:24

I had serious bloating at this stage, even my leggings were uncomfortable. It did go though, although now at 16+6 I look about 25-30 weeks but its twins. I have only put on about 10lbs though.

HappyAsEyeAm · 20/06/2013 11:28

I had huge bloating at that stage with DS2. Massive. I went on holiday and took all my normal clothes, as you do, but when we got there, I realised that only my beach gear and one dress fitted me. The bloat did go down and then the bump started to grow.

Holly94 · 20/06/2013 12:47

I've got that awful bloating too. I'm 8 weeks and yesterday at work someone told me they could see my baby bump. I was like Blush that's just bloating.

BeanoNoir · 20/06/2013 13:16

Yes massive bloating early with dc2 here as well. It's annoying if you're trying not to tell anyone.

MerryMarigold · 20/06/2013 13:18

I had a lot of bloating and no stomach muscles dc1 so the bloating popped me right out. But yes, it was also twins! (Double hormones, double bloating).

spotscotch · 20/06/2013 15:42

I got a bfp yesterday (second dc ) and I am soooo bloated, I look massive, so I am with you!

MissHC · 20/06/2013 20:22

I started getting a proper bump at 8 weeks. It's my first pregnancy. Now 19 weeks and it was definitely not bloating. I look about 7 months pregnant Shock

LittlePandaBear · 20/06/2013 21:23

I am 7 weeks with 2nd DC and have had lots of bloating too, I was worried that I was actually 'showing' but knew that it's too tiny to really be that. How do we get the bloating to go down?!
