I went for a private gender scan at 18 weeks and am delighted with it, however I'm now 37 weeks and suddenly panicking that they got it wrong...just wondering if there's anyone out there who this happened to?! have spent a fortune on coloured clothes and now worrying baby will come out the opposite sex!

My sil was told at every scan she had a boy. When SHE came out it was a bit of a surprise. She had a blue baby gro in all her first pics Grin

Most places will take back clothing and swop if labels still on etc.

Tbh there is little sense in worrying About it now and when the baby comes out you will most likely be so overjoyed it won't matter.

We laugh about it and its quite a story for when she is older!

I'm told its quite rare though. Particularly to mistakenly be told its a boy. Apparently the other way round is more common.

I won't be disappointed if they got it wrong, it's just something I keep wondering about now the time is getting closer! :)

I've had 2 private gender scans, both times I've always had to go back 2 weeks later to have it confirmed 100%. This time around I'm having a girl (had scan at 16 weeks) and the scan lady says they always re-scan at 18 weeks with girls to double check. That was with Babybond.

We had our private gender scan at 17+1 (I actually booked it to get a pic of the twins together as they didn't give us one at our 12 week scan and I was too shocked to think to ask!) We were told we are having one of each Smile and we went with baby bond but they never said anything about going back at 18 weeks to confirm. We have told a select few and are just going to wait for the 20 week scan to confirm (not that we've had the date for that yet grrrrrr)

However, we didn't get a pic of them together because of how they were laying. So paid £79 for something we could have been told at 20 week scan, never mind.

Even though we have been told we are still going to buy mainly gender neutral clothes so we can swap them between babies, plus friends and family will surely swamp us with pinks and blues, I know my sister will!!! Smile

A cousin was told she was having a girl at every scan (this was 10 years ago in Australia) she welcomed her 4th boy Grin
You won't care once he or she is born though

I was supposed to be a boy. I had big spinal issues so my parents had weekly scans, and everyone thought I was a boy.

I was a big disappointment when I was born a girl.

I was told girl at 20 weeks, with my now 1 year old baby BOY :)

Ah my friend was told she was having a girl (4 years ago) - cue pink everything and lots of cards for "Lily". When Jack popped out he had to wear pink babygros for first 2 weeks

I'd keep your receipts just in case but it is very rare for this to happen
