Ive had a sweep this morning.

I am so bloody sore. Hardly slept the past couple of weeks due to sciatica, heartburn etc etc.

I'm measuring at 45 weeks (lol) and im 38+6.

Was offered a membrane sweep and agreed.

All afternoon I've had period style cramps, loose bowels (sorry!) and random tightenings.

I am hoping that it's not my mind playing tricks on me and that it's not going to take much longer.

I had a sweep with my last pregnancy and it took 24 hours before I was in labour.

Fingers crossed i go tonight or tomorrow

Good luck!! Keep us updated! I had a sweep on my due date with DS and a second one a week later, don't always work, just depends, but I hope your not waiting too long

Fingers x for you bowling....I'm 38 weeks today and am feeling exactly the same.....am also measuring 41 weeks at present...am hoping they will offer me a sweep at next appointment....good luck bowling will be watching this with interest

I'm not experienced in sweeps, when I went in for my over due check up and was offered a sweep, she was doing it she realised I was 8cm dilated, I was amazed it worked so fast lol

Slightly envious! They tried to do a sweep for me this morning (38 weeks) but my cervix was still too tilted, all that discomfort for no gain and I've got to go again on Friday and Monday so they can keep trying!

I had a sweep with my 4th pregnancy and the first one i had random contraction type things and then it just went back to normal,second one i went into labour 1 hour later and he was born 2 hours after that!

The way I'm feeling just now, I'd be surprised if nothing happens. I can't quite put my finger on it but something doesn't feel right iyswim

I'll keep busy instead of torturing myself with every twinge
