Spasms in my pelvis

I'm almost 36 weeks and for the last week or so I've been getting very sharp spasms in my pelvis. To the point where I have buckled on the spot as the pain shoots through my legs/pelvis.

Common sense is telling me that this is my baby's head pressing on nerves, but it's getting more frequent and making trips out tough.

Anyone else getting this?

Bumpety bump.

Booked to see an osteo tomorrow but just want to know if anyone else is experiencing this?

Constantly. Fortunately only on one side. It's really hard to describe isn't it? Takes your breath away and then a minute later you're fine :s

I just feel like a complete idiot. But more seriously, I'm worrying about venturing out alone as I can get stuck when baby is properly wedged. DH nearly disowned me in sainsburys earlier as I couldn't do more than a few steps without buckling.

How pg are you?

Sorry - just caught this. I'm 38 weeks and its not showing signs of abating just yet even though I'm fully engaged. Fortunately I'm on mat leave now though so I can go have a bath, which seems to relieve it.

I'd poke DH in the bits every time you get it - that should illicit a bit more sympathy!Grin

Lightening crotch? I have had this - feels a bit like baby is using cervix as a stretchy toy??? I have heard it is baby starting to engage, but I have had it for a few weeks now and it started around that time. :)

I reckon it's baby pushing on your pelvic floor. The reason I think that is because I've had my baby and, due to complications at the birth I am seeing a physio. She has given me fast and slow pelvic floor exercises to do. Since I value continence I started really going for it. I was doing upwards of 250 a day, every two hours.
well, turns out I was overdoing it because after four days of this my pf went into spasms after a wee, a sort of fluttery pain. It felt exactly how I remember it felt close to my edd.

Baby putting your pf into spasm. and probably, the stronger your pf muscle is, the harder the cramp.
