New baby - No bath?

Not sure if this is right place to post but anyway..

DC1 is due in September and I've only just realised - our flat has no bath! Just a shower cubicle.
I know when they are tiny we can use the sink or a baby bath.. But how realistic is it not to have an actual bath as the baby grows up?

I probably sound really stupid but I'll blame it on baby brain :)

We don't have a bath either. We found a changing table/baby bath/storage thing on cheapcycle and I'm sure we'll be able to make do with it :)

Thanks :) and at what age will they be too big for that? Will they be old enough to have a shower? :/

No clue, first timer myself :) I think I'll probably just bring it in the shower with me or my DP but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it :)

baby bath and then showers ! or get an extra big baby bath! if you get baby used to the shower at an early age they will be used to it , my brother would sit in the shower for ages!

You could just get a tub to go at the base of your shower. No reason why baby can't sit in the floor of the shower and have a little shower from 6mths onwards!

Get a tub which you can fit in the shower?

My SIL has no bath (in NZ) and she used a plastic tub til DN could sit up(6 months ish) then a rubber mat in the shower. He is now 2 and has a shower with his dad every evening.

Thanks all :) was suddenly feeling panicky about not having a bath! Silly I know .. Just worrying about everything at last minute!

There's an almost identical thread active tonight, but the poster's LO was outgrowing their baby bath.

Main suggestion were a big DIY type bucket, the kitchen sink, or (my personal favourite) have a shower together from an early age and pass baby out to your other half. We have a bath, but will be trying that last option too.

Can you just ball up a flannel and put in the outlet of the shower? Then run a couple of inches of water and wash the baby in shower tray? I used to do this on holiday.

Ikea's baby bath is big and flat-bottomed and dd still fits in it at 2.3. We put it inside the shower cubicle so the splashing's contained! We just have a shower too, now we have dc2 on the way we're looking at getting a bath put in as would be nice to bath them together.

We had this situation until DS was 2.5. We got a Flexibath- they are brilliant and take up hardly any storage space (they fold!). Highly recommended, and they can technically be used up to the age of 4.

What about one of them big flexitubs used for storage? You can get them in bright colours for kids bedrooms and all different sizes. I just have a huge one away to a charity shop so I know they go big enough! I reckon they could sit in one of them with toys for a bath until 3, but they could have showers before then too. Those flexitubs are also good for sand and water play in the garden instead of expensive tables.

In fact dd regularly emptied all her toys out of it and sat in it and she's 6.

Dsis has no bath, had a bath on a stand changer thing when he was tiny and then got a folding baby bath which she puts in the cubicle now, he's nearly three and still goes in it. She misses having a bath herself though

We have no bath, either! Have a 23 mo DD and she has showers with us now - has done for about 9 months.

Before that we had a blow up duck bath for her that satin the bottom of the shower cubicle. All was fine
