Has anyone gone into labour without a nesting phase or sudden burst of energy? I'm still waiting for mine!

I did. I was overdue and never got that burning need to clean just before.

iamci · 16/06/2013 05:16

I never got it. didn't finish work till my due date and was hoping lo would be late so I could get some organising done - didn't happen!

nooka · 16/06/2013 05:21

I didn't really do any prep for ds, thought I had time, but he was two weeks early. dh spent most of his paternity leave rushing around buying everything!

louschmoo · 16/06/2013 05:33

I had it but never went into labour (induction at 42 weeks for DS1, then ELCS for DS2). So the one doesn't necessarily follow the other!

phantomhairpuller · 16/06/2013 05:53

I had it with DS1 but not with DS2 Shock

TheYamiOfYawn · 16/06/2013 05:58

I had it both times, and would happily have done without. It sounded all nice in the pregnancy books, but wad basically a state of extreme anxiety and panic at the thought of having a baby in my house as it was.

igirisu · 16/06/2013 06:38

I have had it for a month but it seems to have tailed off now I'm overdue I'm just thinking f*ck it!

looneytune · 16/06/2013 07:41

Can't remember havig with either ds1 (10 years ago) or ds2 (5 years ago) but pretty sure I didn't. I've had it big time with this one and it's been going on for a couple of months now and I'm due tomorrow and still nothing. I wouldn't worry about not having it :)

Fairy130389 · 16/06/2013 12:02

I have been nesting so much over the past few weeks that I am now exhausted. as a pp said it can be a bit of a pain - I have gone from being really quite messy to an obsessive clean freak - have lost count of the amount of tears shed over the poor folding of the towel in the guest bathroom(!!) and have often phoned mum in a freak out about 'all there is to do' (Because I felt that it was imperative to clean and bleach every single thing in the house!) Due tomorrow and now I can barely even get up from the sofa so think I might be over it, still no baby so don't think there is a correlation between nesting instinct and arrival date! think the hormones just get us all differently.

Excellent thanks everyone.

Poor DH was really looking forward to me doing some housework for a change but I didn't 'nest' with either of mine.

Littlemissexpecting · 16/06/2013 14:47

I think my DH was looking forward to it too!!

I've got a bit of an energy burst little miss which im glad of in a way but keep.pushing myself, the spd and carpal tunnel make things hard but im so fed up of 'resting' and im.usually really picky about who cleans in my house that it's been infuriating me having just dp doing it, so I've set myself the taste of the bathroom this afternoon so I can really really clean it.

im classing my nesting as when we moved in 5 months ago and decorated babies room 2 months ago

TeWiSavesTheDay · 16/06/2013 17:13

I don't seem to do it either. With DD I went 4 days overdue, Nd was so fed up the day I rurally went into labour I say on the sofa all sat watching tv and eating popcorn and ice cream!

No cleaning behind fridges for me.Grin

VikingLady · 16/06/2013 20:06

I don't think I ever got it. That said...

At 39+2 at 8am I announced the whole house needed cleaning really thoroughly, tidying, clearing out etc. I dragged my carcase leapt out of bed, and my waters broke all over my feet! So possibly I did nest, but a little too late?
