5-6 weeks but bad news :(

Hi

Up until the other day I was pregnant, about 5 weeks ? max 6 weeks but I?ve now lost what was there. It started with spotting for three days which turned into light bleeding but now it?s blood. :(

Does anyone know how long i?ll be at this stage, the cramps are really painful.

I?ve got a doctor?s appointment on Thursday, does anyone know if i?ll be OK to carry on to try again straight away or do I need to have a break.

The same thing is currently happening to me. It's shit. Sorry that you're going through it too. For me, it's just like a period and is tailing off now on the third day of bleeding. Was 5+6 when bleeding started but paranoia prompted me to poas the day before and it was negative - just a week after a strong positive.

Doc and EPU both told me I can try again as soon as the bleeding stops but it seems advice on this varies so I don't know what the answer is.

So sorry to hear you're going through this. If it is very painful then call NHS Direct / out of hours GP / local EPU unit and seek their advice.

You can start ttc straight away. The reason some medics recommend waiting is so if you get pregnant straight away they can date it.

Have you got an early pregnancy unit? They would be your best port of call, they'll want to check if indeed you have lost your pregnancy, or not, if yout have anything remaining which May need removing and they will do blood tests to check its not a ectopic. Unlikely so I don't mean to panic you, but it's best to cross these things off. They will also talk you through the next steps. When I had a spontaneous miscarriage I bled for 6 weeks, but this is the high end of normal I think. Also, physically you could probably start trying again as soon as you stop bleeding, though they like you to have a full cycle first for dating's sake. Whether you emotionally feel up for that only you can tell. Im so sorry this is happening to you, it offis horrible. I have lost 2 babies and its spent hard, but you'll bounce back. But please contact your early pregnancy rather than wait for the doctor just in case. They will see you quickly.

i'm so sorry for your loss . From everything I have read physically you can start ttc as soon as the bleeding stops, although emotionally you may want a little break to process what happened. I agree with previous comments about why the doctors like you to wait, when i came off of contraception i was told i can start ttc straight away but they would prefer i waited until after a cycle so that they could date any pregnancy properly. Also do call NHS 24 if you are in a lot of pain as you don't want to be left waiting until Thursday! Best of luck

Really sorry to read this. I lost one at 10 weeks and was devastated but I got pregnant quite quickly after and he's now almost 5! Sending all good energies your way.xx

Hope you are doing ok. I had an mc and effectively had labour pains. They lasted a couple of hours. The following day, I felt a bit rubbish but not too bad. Had urge for the loo, and think that was then I passes the sac. All discomfort immediately stopped.
So sorry for your loss. My periods went rubbish for about three months after mc but think I fell pg first month I ovulated after mc. Resulting DD2 is asleep upstairs.
Its rubbish, it really is.
Just a final thought, have you had it confirmed it is mc? With DD1 I had huge gushes of red blood after spotting but she is also asleep upstairs!

I went through this and did get of again before having a period so it is possible.

Try and get seen earlier because you may feel you can't take anything string enough to help until you know it's certain.

sorry to hear, the same happened to me around 5-6 weeks. As it was so early, it was just like a normal period. We tried again immediately and I'm now 39 weeks pregnant with the result of that try.

Congratulations, HazleNutt - that's very hopeful to hear. Were there problems dating the pregnancy or did they treat the mc as your last period, if you don't mind me asking?

I had a mc in Febraury at 7 weeks and the pain cramps subsided at I passed the sac (about 4 days). The bleeding lasted about 8 days.

We too wanted to ttc straight away. The doctor wanted us to wait two cycles but this was only because it would make it easier for MW to date the pregancy. We decided to carrying on ttc straight away and I fell pregnant after one period post mc. We are now 10+4.

Hi, thanks for all of your messages.

I went to the hospital today who confirmed that is was a MC. My doctor sent me to see them as the pregnancy test with them came back positive only last Friday.

So DP and I are going to start again - immediately!
