Is my baby going to be huge?!?

Hi,

Probably a really silly naive question but here goes!

I am 20 weeks pregnant and my bump is very big already, however I am naturally a larger girl and have always had a slight pregnancy type paunch! So I was always going to carry a bump well.

A woman I work with keeps telling me that because I'm so big, I'm going to have a big baby and she reckons it will be about 10 pounds!!!

Is she right? The bigger my bump is, the bigger my baby is going to be?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No- thereis no correlation at all.

I was big before I got pregnant- my bump hardly showed at all until very late on and even then wasn't huge- and my ds was nearly 11lbs! (Incredibly easy 3 hur labout, by the way!) They can't even tell in the hospital either- they often get it wrong. So don't worry.

Hi, don't worry about your bump meaning you have a big baby. It could be to do with how much liquid is in the bump or it might slow down a bit and not grow so much every month. I'm sure your baby will be a perfect size. Think of how big you and your DP were, it is often similar to the parents or grandparents.

Ohh thanks both of you! A big relief!

I was 7 and a half and dp was 8 so fingers crossed our baby will be the same! (However my brother was 10 so hopefully won't take after him!)
