Maternity Support Belt, any recommendations please?

In my first pregnancy I had excess fluid and my bump was huge and although I'm only 16 weeks I can tell it's going to be massive again.

So I'm looking for a good support belt (not those flimsy lycra bands) but a proper hardcore one - any recommendations?

Will be watching this with interest!

I read in one of the previous threads that the best option is to get one made specifically for you (I guess you'll need to see a physio then?) No idea how it works though...

I too want to get a proper support belt as expecting twins. A friend of mine got one prescribed by the Physio at the hospital when she was expecting hers. Ask your doctor of midwife for info.Smile

Well the thing is, I need to wait for my next appointment for another month, and the bump does already feel heavy. But it's not really urgent enough to request to see the midwife sooner, right?.. Don't know how to go about it:)

Because of excess weight and travelling in tubes I got pelvic griddle pains and I saw physio .. she recommended me promedics maternity support belt. That was really helpful. There are many types - medium, large.. as I was not big from waist she told to use small one.. like given in this link

I think you should first see the physio .. they will tell what suits you rather than directly buying from market ..

Thanks, will ask my consultant next time I see him.

Saku did you notice a difference when you wore it?

Yes .. my walk became better.. before with every step I used to feel a hitch of pain in my griddle, pressure in front and I used to walk in a very weird way little bit like Charlie Chaplin...
after wearing this belt I don't feel that hitch and pressure.. and walk normally.. :) but still like pregnant women not like Charlie Chaplin though Grin
