Hi I need some advise please! I have just had a positive pregnancy test result! This will be my first pregnancy and I'm unsure what I need to do next? Do I just ring up my doctors surgery and inform them or do I need an appointment with the doctor?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks

Congratulations!

Ring and ask them. Some practises like you to see the doctor before they book you in with the midwife, others just refer you straight to the midwife (who you likely won't see until about 10 weeks!).

Also, if you are not already familiar with the advice for early pregnancy (food dos and don't, Folic acid etc), take a look on the NHS website.

Grin I don't think the [good] shock has worn off for me yet, and dc1 is nearly 2! I hope you have an easy and uneventful pregnancy.
