Had to take MAP yesterday after condom split, was within 48 hours of accident, has anyone taken it and still become pregnant?

It can happen, yes. The probability of morning after working goes down the longer you wait to take it.

ProbablyJustGas · 10/06/2013 14:04

There is still a good chance it could work fine, though, and it is probably best to carry on assuming it has.

If you are worried, the only thing you can do now is wait until your period is due anyway. Some of the pregnancy tests claim they can let you know up to 5 days beforehand, but the probability of them being accurate is lower the further away from your date you are.

I have.

I was 14, and condom came off during sex, but we didn't realise! I took MAP 36 ish hrs later, no sickness or anything,

but still fell pg.

he is 16 now Smile

IRCL · 10/06/2013 14:29

Yes I have, she's three now.

KrazyKurls · 10/06/2013 14:58

I feel like such an idiot. We have 3 children, had IUD removed recently due to perforation, trying to decide which contraceptive to use so thought condom in the meantime.

Don't know how I will get through the next 2 weeks, probably won't get a period as haven't had one since DD born, still BF but not often - so will need to test.

Mt stomach is in knots, it has to work!

Fingers crossed for you xxx

KrazyKurls · 10/06/2013 16:17

If you are that worried, how about going and having a coil fitted as well?

KrazyKurls · 10/06/2013 17:11

I'm not allowed one for 6 weeks, the last one caused uterine perforation so had surgery for this 5 weeks ago, another week before they can try again, if it hadn't perforated I wouldn't even have this problem Sad

I had a condom breakage and took emergency contraception 3 years ago. At the time the doctor said it can make your period early or late...my period never came. My DD is now 13. I think it is rare not to work though. I just believe what's meant to be is meant to be and that my DD was meant to be here lol.

lilstar · 10/06/2013 17:17

Scrub the 3 in that last message...keyboard causing typos for me!

mollymalone1 · 28/06/2013 21:07

Yep, afraid so. Went to the Doctor who asked me what type of emergency contraception I'd used and when I gave the name seemed to nod in what to me was a very knowing way! Am 9 weeks pregnant (I think) and partner has decided that he isn't interested in sticking around as obviously the pregnancy wasn't planned. Hey ho! What will be, will be I suppose. :)

Myliferocks · 28/06/2013 21:11

I took the MAP 24 hours after a condom split.
My 5th child was born as a result.
He's now 8.
