Bras during pregnancy

babsie007 · 10/06/2013 10:52

I am 8.5 weeks pregnant and although my per pregnancy bra seems to fit well under the bits, it does sometimes get a little uncomfy round the back, and my right boob is starting to overflow above the bra cup.

Is this normal for 8 weeks?

How often should I expect to outgrow my bras during pg (I'm already an H cup!!!!)

I have read that I shouldn't wear underwire but has anyone has bad experience of this?

Thanks for the help! :-)

Yep, I've been exactly the same... bigger boobs was my first sign of being PG. Am 28 wks now and have already gone for two fittings (started as a C cup and now up to an E cup). I'm buying cheap, comfy bras and praying they don't get any bigger!

I don't know about you "shouldn't" wear underwire, but I simply can't wear anything with an underwire. Way too uncomfortable.

I got away with two size changes during pregnancy and one more for bf. I think its just badly fitting underwire you have to avoid because it can squash the milk ducts or something.

Ok thanks!! I think with my size, I need the underwire to support me.

I best get to a bra fitting in the next few weeks!!

I just found underwire horrifically uncomfy during pregnancy to be honest. I increased in size quite quickly, and went up a couple of sizes by the time I was 13/14 weeks. I got fitted properly for a bra at that point, and am still wearing the same one now at 29 weeks as I don't seem to have got bigger again - so there may be hope!

I am 17 weeks and have gone up from an e/f cup to quite a tight g cup. Don't think this size will last much longer!
After speaking to friends I've found the bigger u were to start with the more quickly they seem to grow.
It is awful and I agree with our sort if size we do need inderwired bras x

I was hoping that because I'm already busty. They wouldn't gain much lol! Guess that's out the window x

I was a g before I got pregnant and can't decide if I'm an I or a j now at 32 weeks, I was also hoping I wouldn't go up much but can't do much about it.

I am currently hunting for j cup feeding bras and living in aah bras in the house as bras are just so uncomfy. I am also stuck in the house a lot with spd so dont have to wear proper bras that often. Also a bra extender thing is going to be purchased to get a bit more use out of the bras I have just now as they are so expensive.

Completely normal OP - I was refitted at bravissimo at about 10 weeks and had gone from a g to a hh I'm now 22 weeks and ought to go back for another fitting. And maybe a bikini top so I can swim.

Underwires are fine as long as you're comfortable and they fit well. You don't want to be squashed!

How are you getting on at night? I bought a bravado nursing bra which is sort of like a crop top and it's been a god send for my sore and growing boobs.
