Headaches! Are they normal?

So worried as i have been getting headaches 3 times daily for 3 weeks solid, very painful ones normal at the front of my head-nearly 12 weeks pregnant.

Haven't visited the gp yet because i thought they would go away in time, but they haven't. It's starting to really bring me down tbh as i have enough to worry about as i have my scan this week, and very worried as i miscarried in feb.

Waiting until my scan is over, and i will be seeing the gp but could anyone reassure me whether this is normal please as i'm starting to panick that it 's something more sinister as these headaches are the sort where i find it excruciating to bend down to pick things up and i find only laying down relieves themConfused

Hi, im not sure if they are normal but i have been having them too. I mentioned it at my last midwife appt last week and she wasnt too worried as my Bp was okay. I get them 3-4 times a week since 10 weeks and am now 19 weeks. Have u gt a number for your midwife to give her a ring theyay want to check our bp too?

hi pumkin.
this is normal.
I have had headaches on and off for the last four weeks.
im now 15+5.
the only thing I would say is get your blood pressure checked as they can 'rarely'be a sign of pre-eclampsia.
Ive had mine checked and its quite low so all good.

good luck and congrats by the way.

Thankyou, yes i could phone her to see what she says.
Having had 4dd and never experienced this in pregnancy i have found myself getting really concerned.

Hi. Sorry you are feeling so worried.
I know what you mean about fearing something sinister. If it reassures you I am 12 weeks with DC 3 and as with my previous 2 I am experiencing excruciating headaches this time. They are on and off but pretty rotten.
It is pretty normal for me in pregnancy I'm afraid.
I would definitely see GP and get checked over to be sure. My gp was pretty thorough each time. My bp is ok.
Just hormone related with me, and quite common for many pregnant women as far as I know.
Had co codamol first time round but to be honest that didin't really help. As far as I can remember that go by 18 to 20 weeks, maybe sooner, not exactly sure.
It not going to be pre eclampsia so early in pregnancy but nevertheless get checked out as soon as just to be sure.

Hi, I have been suffering from headaches pretty much constantly - they have died down a bit now (am 25 weeks) but from 6-22 weeks they were everyday and very painful. MW said they were hormone related, to take paracetamol and not to worry as some people just suffer with them.

Get your BP tested etc but if all else is normal you may just have to take painkillers when they are v bad

They were definitely normal for me. I regularly got reallly blinding headaches, and im not normally a headache-y person. Definitely get it checked out though if you're worried.
