I have had some brownish discharge when I wipe this morning Sad (tmi sorry). I was 7 weeks yesterday. I have a horrible sinking feeling that this is it Sad

Rubbish here - chucked down. Never mind, I'm off till Wednesday Grin

LST · 16/06/2013 20:28

I've gone really cold now! Heating might have to be switched on!

Have a good few days off! Smile

How are you today, LST? Smile

LST · 17/06/2013 20:10

I'm good Smile I think. Feeling a lot more relaxed and everything seems to be getting back to normal (touch wood)

Thank you.

Great to hear!

pizzaqueen · 18/06/2013 21:43

Just joining this thread (a little late I know). So glad you saw a heartbeat LST. How are you now?

I'm going through something very similar just now and feel as if I'm going a little crazy with the waiting and the unknown. Reading tgis thread has helped.

I started with brown on wiping on Friday and then yesterday it turned red and today quite a bit heavier and a few tiny clots Hmm I had a scan on Saturday where they measured 6 weeks but an empty sac and to go back on Tuesday but because my bleeding has got worse I've to go back tomorrow. Desperately hoping to see something but also reconciled the worst may have already happened.

So glad you got a good outcome OP.

LST · 19/06/2013 10:03

Pizza I hope that you have good news tomorrow! The wait for the scan was terrible.

I thought everything was getting better. A whole day yesterday without any blood or brown discharge after a whole 8 days. Then I went to bed and low and behold I have yet again started with the brown discharge :( There was quite a lot too.

Seems to have settled down again this morning, well it had when I got up, but god knows what is happening now.

It's killing me this is. I can't see me being able to wait until the 26th of July until my next scan. I get to see my midwife on Friday for my booking in appointment but I feel like this has been going on forever already, I don't know about only just starting. I'm just so so tired.

monikar · 19/06/2013 10:59

LST Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear this, you sound exhausted.

It must seem like it is going on forever. Mine went on and there was a lot too, I could think of nothing else at the time.

At least you have the midwife on Friday who should be able to reassure you, I hope so. At my booking-in appointment, the midwife seemed really unconcerned about my brown bleeding and was far more interested in discussing how I planned to feed the baby. I found this frustrating at the time, but looking back, I suspect it was because such a lot of women have this and most do go on to have a baby to term.

Do you have any RL support? I remember telling some ladies I worked with, who had all had children, but they seemed almost embarrassed to discuss it with me and I felt very isolated. It is so difficult to carry on with everyday things when you have this on your mind.

Really hope you are ok.

I had that at 8 weeks (last week), the Dr sent me for an early scan because I'd also had some pain. Turns out it was nothing to worry about and I saw a tiny little bean with a flickering heartbeat at the scan which was reassuring.

Try not to panic, make a Dr appointment and maybe they'll send you for an early scan for reassurance. I think it's fairly common to get a little bleeding/discharge.

LST · 24/06/2013 13:39

I don't know if anyone is still about.... or whether it is worth me starting another thread.... but... I've still got a funny discharge! It has been 2 weeks now Sad

I can't say it's brown as it's more beigey (tmi). Why is it still here?! Has anyone else had this for this long and everything turn out ok?

OP posts:
monikar · 24/06/2013 13:47

LST I have been wondering how you have been getting on.

Mine turned beige before it stopped to it could be that this is the last bit and yours will stop for good very soon. I mentioned the beige to the midwife and she said it was normal to have more discharge when pregnant and that the beige could continue. For me it didn't - it went more cream (tmi sorry) but I just wanted to let you know what I was told.

You must be exhausted by it all - how many weeks are you now?

LST · 24/06/2013 13:59

Thanks Monikar. Hopefully it does just go! I'm back at work today Sad Really feeling exhausted. I feel so pathetic! Did you have this for a while then? I didn't think it would last 2 weeks. I'm just worried now about my 12 week scan.

I think I'm 9 weeks but the scan showed I should be 8 weeks. So I don't know until the day of the scan.

Thank you x

I'm going back nearly 18 years so I can't remember exactly how long I had it each time - several days at least. It took longer to go the first time (6 weeks) than the second time (10 weeks).

It is so worrying and exhausting though. I could think of nothing else, however busy I tried to be.

LST · 24/06/2013 17:24

Oh sorry! I thought it was more recent Blush
I've gone back to thinking the worst. It can't be good bleeding this long even if it is slightly discoloured (though it does look darker now I'm in from work Sad)

OP posts:
monikar · 24/06/2013 18:44

That's ok - my DD is 17.

Some women bleed on and off the whole way through, it doesn't necessarily mean bad news.

Is your next appointment your 12 week scan or do you have a midwife appointment before then?

PinkParsnips · 24/06/2013 22:44

Hi lst, I just wanted to let you know that I had brown bleeding that lasted for nearly 3 weeks (from 6wks to 9wks) and I've just had my 20 week scan today and all is great so it can definitely be normal.
In fact I specifically asked the epu if the length of time the bleeding lasted for meant anything and she said no it means nothing at all.
Hope it stops for you soon.

LST · 28/06/2013 17:16

It's back Sad

I've had 4 whole days with none.

I think the reason this time is I had a .. (really sorry about sharing this but maybe someone has had the same thing happen to them..) poo last night.. and I was straining a bit. And that's when it started. It's still brown not red yet, but I have an achey feeling quite low down...

God I'm so fed up! Work has been a mega steess too this week and I keep worrying I'm neglecting DP Sad Just feel like shite..

OP posts:
monikar · 28/06/2013 18:10

LST I have been wondering how you are.

I would see that it had stopped for four days as a good sign - it is probably on the way out.

You are not a moaning Minnie - you are worried and just because other people may have worse to contend with doesn't mean that you are not entitled to be worried and to get some proper help and support for your concerns.

It is hard holding everything together with work and your family, you must be exhausted.

When I had my bleeding I was terrified of going to the loo, and I did notice (tmi alert) that when I strained, more would come out, but for me it didn't start it off.

I was really constipated when I was pregnant and being worried about bleeding just made it worse. I asked the gp and he gave me fybogel on prescription - I took a sachet night and morning for nearly the whole pregnancy and it did the trick. It did take about a week to kick in though.

Thank you monikar.

I just feel so fed up. I rang the midwife earlier too just ask 'why!?' I bet she thought I was a complete nutter. She said old blood can sit at the base of the cervix for a while and day to day activities can bring it out. I just hope it's still implantation blood, but I'm about 10 weeks now, so I think I am being to hopeful!

I have 4 bloody weeks to wait until my next scan as well Sad

Can you not ask your MW to refer you for a scan for peace of mind? Or pay for a private scan? I'm sure everything will be okay but also understand it won't matter what anyone tells you until you see your bambino on a scan. Take care x

LST · 28/06/2013 22:16

I was thinking private scan. It will be 2 weeks until I can get one of those though too.. I need to talk to dp when he gets in from work in the morning x

I know hearing other people's stories doesn't help when you're in the middle of the awful waiting for scans but I have three children and bled with each of them - all shades of red/brown, differing 'thickness' and for various lengths of time. With each of them I had private scans when I couldn't bear the stress any more and I still maintain it was money well spent. It (temporarily) stopped me going out of my mind with worry and was therefore very much worth it each time. If you can then definitely book one. Fingers crossed you're just a 'bleeder' and there is nothing more to it.
