Ok, so here goes ...

I am roughly 7 wks pg and I have so much vaginal discharge that when I walk, I squelch, yes that's right, SQUELCH. It is sooooooo loud, I don't know how to stop it. Any ideas? It is rather embarrassing when a room is so quiet, I am sure everyone can hear it when I stand up. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Maybe hum a happy tune when you stroll about?

Or use sanitary towels, surely that would work?

I have tried panty liners but they just keep my knickers clean and don't stop the squelch.

I'm sure its not that loud. Try asking a close female friend or relative, if they can hear anything, don't tell them why.
Failing that, mooncup? Are they safe to use when pg?
Fwiw, I had loads when pg both times too.

Yes, good idea, will ask my sis when I see her next week.

Not sure about a mooncup, what about a tampon, are they safe to use aswell?

I have just had surgery and been on three different types of antibiotics for two weeks so I know how you feel!! I didn't think of asking someone if they could hear it!!

It just feels do uncomfortable and embarrassing!

Ps what is mooncup??

RJM17 · 08/06/2013 18:01

U can't use tampons when pregnant.
I have had loads of discharge it is awful and feel so self conscious. So feel ur pain x

BlackholesAndRevelations · 08/06/2013 18:35

I'm sure it's not as loud as it sounds to you, if that makes sense? Good idea to ask sis. Def no to tampons and most probably mooncup too (though I'm not sure on that one!)

BelleEtLaBaby · 08/06/2013 19:03

No no no to tampons. Much higher risk of toxic shock syndrome if you use them when not having a period. Please don't do that! Not sure about the mooncup - don't think the TSS risks are the same but I'm not sure it's the answer.

Try the older, non plasticky pads - the thicker ones which feel like tissue. I've been using an incontinence pad (welcome to the tni thread lol) which is like this and as a side note it seems much better for the good old pregnancy cm. Or moist toilet tissue, and when you do go for a wee, just try and wipe away as much as you can.
Good luck!
