39+2 and loose bowels?

Just wondering if any of you lovely mums had loose bowels before going into labour?

I've felt a little off today, bump quite tight, period pain type feelings in my legs and a few actual tightenings but my main symptom is loose bowels.

Been twice today and it's very loose, like runs (sorry, tmi!!)

Wondering if this is imminent labour? Pleeeeeease pleeeease

think you might be on the way Smile

Sounds promising.

I had this plus vomiting during labour with dd2.

BabylonReturns · 06/06/2013 23:04

Very promising indeed, good luck x

LadyFlumpalot · 06/06/2013 23:09

Yup, had the runs, then an hour later my waters went. It's your body clearing out your bowels to make as much room as possible for the baby's exit!

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 06/06/2013 23:21

Ooo...fingers crossed then!

I've been obsessively googling and lots of websites say that it can last a couple of weeks so I was a bit Sad

Hopefully means something is happening as I've had BH, period pain jelly legs and stabby cervix pains for the past 10 days or so. Hoping this new (but grim) symptom means it's close!

Yes I did for about a day, then my waters broke. Felt a bit nervous too, like my body was ramping up for sonething. Good luck!

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 07/06/2013 09:19

Yeah, that's how I feel, very off.

I'll let you ladies know if anything happens Grin

Yes, and vomiting for a few hours too (lovely), on the plus side once labour was fully established I was fine (and empty!) so no risk of pooing during a big push!

Fingers uncrossed for you!

I did but for around 2wks before labour :/ but it sounds very promising for you. Fingers crossed, good luck :) xxx

Sounds likely it will be soon! My friend got diarrhoea the day before both of her kids were born. I felt sick and generally yucky the night before my ds was born. Good luck. x

With DD I had this for about a day before contractions started and waters went within minutes. But it was really dramatic, like a d&v bug. I was convinced I was going to be ill throughout labour but once it was all cleared out, so to speak, it didn't happen again.

This pg I have had loose bowels for about 4 days now, am 38+5. But not as dramatic as before, obviously going on for longer too.
I am remaining hopeful!

Bowels can be affected by progesterone changes in particular. I always get loose movements for the first few days of a period, which I think is caused by the drop in progesterone. Some people are maybe more sensitive? Either way, hope its a good sign and these babies are on their way! Good luck!

Yes sounds like the start of something! I always get loose bowels just before and during my period, and with DS I felt exactly the same way I do before a period begins, then I had my show and it all progressed quite quickly from there. Good luck.

Yes I had loose bowels a day before going into labour - both times Grin
