hiya, so straight to the point.. I'm 4 weeks pregnant and my waist line has literally disappeared! I'm bloated, granted, but I don't recall my waist thickening this quickly in my first pregnancy.. so I'm curious to find out when yours started to.

I noticed it at 6 weeks.

It's my 3rd pregnancy but I have a relatively flat stomach usually but at 6 weeks I could tell that it had started to puff out a bit already.

Am nearly 15 weeks now and I have a bump already

rosiedays · 05/06/2013 23:12

Mine went between 4 and 6 weeks. Couldn't work out why till I did test at 10 weeks!!!! 3rd pg had totally flat stomach and great waist. ... not sure if i ever will again!
Congratulations.

second pregnancy and I was in maternity trousers by eight weeks:(

MisselthwaiteManor · 06/06/2013 05:36

About 6-8 weeks I started to bloat I think it comes with the sickness. Started to gain weight and podge out probably a few weeks after that.

MultipleMama · 06/06/2013 07:35

About 4 weeks in my current twin pregnancy.

MrsMaryCooper · 06/06/2013 07:38

I was out of suit trousers /skirts with fitted waistlines by 6 weeks. Might have been sooner but I was on holiday the last 2 weeks. Not in any way a "pregnant" shape though.

MrsMaryCooper · 06/06/2013 07:39

That was first pregnancy. And I hadn't put any weight on at all.

Pal211 · 06/06/2013 07:44

It's all water retention. Or if u acidic it cox of dt.... Ur bloating n it ll all b fine start vid yoga or walking.. It happened to me as I got preg... N I wanted to ask if ny1 here is facing prob like low lying placenta grade 1??

Dusty04 · 06/06/2013 10:05

I'm 11 weeks and seem to really notice it this morning.. But I've gone from teach fitness classes 5 times a week to doing none (on midwifes advice due to Achilles problem) so that's probably accounting for it!

WillSantaComeAgain · 06/06/2013 11:11

I'm 10 weeks and I'm already the size I was at 18 weeks with PG1. It was one of my pg symptoms - waist grew an inch by wk4. Still in normal clothes but only because I've gone back to my pre-weight loss size 12/14s Sad

blondebaby111 · 06/06/2013 11:29

I'm 8 weeks and I noticed it a few weeks ago. I've another month to keep things quiet but I'm sure people will guess. I'm normally a slim size 10 but I look so much more chunkier, the problem is I don't look preg just look like I've put on weight so feeling pretty consious at the moment and I can't wait til I have a proper bump x

Holly1977 · 06/06/2013 11:37

Very early, about 8 weeks. I was very slim before, size 8, and had a pretty flat stomach. I'm 12 weeks now and only comfy in mat trousers / jeans, pjs or naked!

GoodbyeBeer · 06/06/2013 11:39

So relieved to read this thread! I am just over four weeks and was alarmed to find my normally loose work trousers are already getting snug. Have been very careful not to start eating for two.
Think Pal211 is right about it being water retention because I've found I get more bloated over the course of the day.

MadeOfStarDust · 06/06/2013 11:43

Ha - first time took ages - about 16 weeks to need bigger size in the waist... second time - I was the size of a house by then!

scaevola · 06/06/2013 11:47

Mine was more or less straight away, as it was like pre-period bloat that didn't go away. The sort of thing that is easy to put up with for a couple of days a month, but really noticeable when it persisted and was the largest (not the typical) amount of bloat. It was only very slight increase after that, until about 10/12 weeks when there was a definite change outwards and upwards.

Shellywelly1973 · 06/06/2013 11:58

My waistline disappeared at 5 weeks with this pregnancy. Im a size 8 so Im struggling as i can barely do my jeans up & Im only 6 weeks!

I was pregnant earlier in the year & it was much easier to hide with jumpers/coats. Its very irritating to not be comfortable in any of my clothes!

Franykins · 06/06/2013 12:05

I was in mat jeans by about 8 weeks, the rest of my clothes still fit me ok but mostly I wear leggings and vest tops. I'm now 14+6 and look about 25 weeks I think. Did find out at 12 week scan we're having twins though so that explains some of it Smile I was a size 14/16 when I fell though, after losing 2 stone and thinking I'd lose more and it would take longer than one true cycle off the pill to conceive, so that's the other reason I look bigger as well I think.

enjoyingscience · 06/06/2013 12:35

I'm only just 8 weeks and have a hairband keeping my jeans up already. This is DC2, think with DS I was in maternity trousers at 16 weeks, but not really before.

I think a lot of it is due to sickness - if I'm not snacking on something I feel like death!

charlottesweb87 · 06/06/2013 13:07

I'm 8 weeks and have been having to put an elastic band around the top button of my jeans as they won't do up! Also purchased a couple of nice maternity trousers already because I feel more free and comfortable. Bloating def gets worse throughout the day! My husband keeps pointing out my "bump" but I keep telling him it's just the hormones making me very bloated. Can't wait for a proper bump! Smile
