Pregnant for first time..

Just found out I'm pregnant I'm 6weeks 3 days, having bad pains and cramps in my stomach no sickness or tiredness yet just the cramps which get worse on a night if I wake in the early hours, midwife will not see me till 8weeks so needing some advice....

I had period like cramps from 4 to about 8 weeks although they were worse at 4 to 6 weeks. I think some cramping is normal in some pregnancies. so long as there is no bleeding. A Dr or a midwife are unlikely to suggest any intervention at this stage if this is your only symptom. Try to relax and rest as much as you can. And congratulations.

First thing to do is go over to the AnteNatal Clubs part of MN which is the place where you will find chat threads where the pregnant hang out together.

As for the cramps, this is pretty common in early pg and can just mean everything is stretching.

Pains is fairly normal so please don't stress out, your stomach will be preparing himself for baby growing, keep positive and calm!

Could just be implantation cramps and stretching. I suffered terrible and all is fine now at 16 weeks x

Thanks a lot for all ur lovley reassuring messages, gets to the point where I can't handle it sometimes, its soo hard not to stress about it and to rest when I'm a busy hairdresser alone in my own salon..god help me in birth if I am wining about cramp haha thanks again. X

Apparently, our intestines and other organs relax and uncrinckle and this is the pain/cramps.

I have been told that any bleeding is to be checked out but period like pains or mind pains are fine at the moment

However, although I know all of this, there is not a minute that goes by when i am not scared so I feel your pain!

I wish mine would stop moving haha, my partner is scared we loose it and keeps reminding me to keep an eye 4 blood, I would go to a&e and deman to be checked of that was the case but speaking to someone would settle me and reading all ur messages puts my mind to rest
